Having had a Car Dab radio of one sorts or another in my Boring cars for a number of years
i was keen to get Planet Rock in my roadster.

i have found through many months of failures that Dab reception is not down to the Quality or price of the Head unit
but down to the aerial or placement of it

I Have tried many Dab radio's ranging from £150 to £20 and all manner of aerials and found nothing between them

i am now running one of the cheapest Dab car add on systems a old BEAT400 In-Car Digital Radio Tuner off Ebay for £20
with near perfect reception

This is what i have found
a Roof aerial is totally  out of the question. so i tried a active bee sting aerial £50 mounted through the standard
rear wing aerial mount - poor reception

Active Aerial Splitter using the standard  FM electric Aerial to pick up Dab... very patchy

The common Stick on front windscreen aerial approx 10" long with active amplifier £20 Better but still patchy

Passive T-Shape aerial approx 20" that came with the Beat radio positioned vertically on front windscreen  far Left ..Near Perfect reception

Hope this helps someone
Slowly replacing all the old parts for new parts so that one day i will end up with a brand new car !   s]
