Does any know if the 'Fisher Price' head unit has a connector for a CD changer on the rear? I'm looking at Bluetooth options similar to this :

Yes it does and im using a similar setup on mine, basically ive got a connects2 aux adaptor to get audio into CD changer port then a HB01 bluetooth unit to connect to phone via bluetooth for music and phone, i hardly ever use it to be fair but its there.  If that one in your link fits it will be a neater solution than the 2 devices i have at moment although they are tucked away behind the hu so not an issue for me.

Thanks for that - I think I will give it a go - I've got a USB powered Bluetooth FM transmitter at the moment and I don't like the look of it or the sound quality. I do want to keep the OEM head unit too.

Doubtful as its designed to plug into the oem cd changer port on hu and aftermarket will probably use there own type of connector, impossible to say without seeing both units but I would be surprised if it was possible.

Have a look at this - available in the UK - more options? - is more expensive!

Sorry :'(
Similar to barchetta_ms I want to retain the OEM unit and be able to use my IPod, Android Phone etc.
The downside is that the HU probably has to come out in order to attach the link cable? ::)

You can access the socket without removing the head unit - I can get to mine from the passenger side (usual very graceful head in footwell). Downside on my head unit is that there is already a plug in that socket. It only has x2 grey wires in. I pulled it out to see what was affected and oddly all worked OK but the volume was stuck at a high level.

SV-3 - the unit you have referenced has a 6+6 12 pin connector where the connector on my head unit is 5+7. The unit I'm now looking is this one :

Plus a 'Y' adaptor so I can keep the current connector in :

I'm pretty sure based on this page:

https://japancars.ru/index.php?route=catalog/toyota&area=GR&cat=662220&pn=5211242040&blk_id=8601

the head unit is a part number 86120-4206. The pinouts on the rear of my head unit for that part number are :

https://pinoutguide.com/Car-Stereo-Toyota-Lexus/Toyota_58806_%D0%9C%D0%B0tsushita_pinout.shtml

It's the CN702 connector that the adaptor would plug into. Pins 9+10 - bus communication - are the ones that are already connected.

Thanks for that useful information and options. The incartec website suggests it would cover all Mk3 variants/years :o
Mine is a 2003 car so perhaps the HU's are different?
Either way I shall adopt the position in the footwell and investigate next time I get the car out ::)

This thread explains what the existing x2 wires are in the CN702 connector - they are an external link between some of the head unit components - so I will need the Y adaptor :

I can confirm the adaptor and Y-cable work and I now have a pretty discrete Bluetooth install running with the standard head unit.

SV-3

Well Done.
Are you able to try the iPod function?

I will see if I can find my old iPod and give it a go

barchetta_ms

I've been through the manual and there isn't actually an ipod function. It have an aux input that you could connect your ipod in via but no control of the ipod itself.

Does this yatour stuff charge your phone thru usb as well?

barchetta_ms

Yes

I removed the glovebox and fitted the unit inside the dash behind that, I have the USB cable from the unit going inside the glove box from there and the control button hidden just under the bottom of the ash tray. You can't spot the install easily - I like the stock look.
