Got the last of the panels switched over, and also got the fibreglass hardtop, front and rear lips and side skirts back from the painters.

Really pleased with how all the panels look and the paintwork is in nice condition apart from the bonnet which the lacquer has faded. Will be getting this re-painted.

'Balanced' the lips and bits up so I can see what it will look like to get some pictures, will fasten and bond them up this week.

Have also got a spare bootlid which is been sprayed black so I can just run the car without the wing on the road and then switch at the track...think it looks abit much on the road and dont want to get the wrong attention!

So next I need to paint the door shuts and few bits of silver that are left and the colour switch is complete :)

Also have been working on making the old shell into a nicer car which my Dad is going to use which will ne nice for him.

Just need to find/get some lowering spring and hopefully a maroon soft top to finish it off for him.

Quote from: Beachbum957 on May  5, 2024, 11:16We have been running the Koni inserts with OEM springs. They work very nicely and actually ride a bit better than OEM or KYB, and work better on rough roads.  They also last a very long time as a friend ran Konis with stock springs for over 90,000 miles and they were still working very well.

The only issues are finding someone to modify the stock strut housings which need to be cut, and getting the right specs for the cuts.  The information sheet with the inserts doesn't not have the right dimensions.  One other small issue is the bolt that holds the insert in the strut may hit the top of the sway bar mount at full extension.  That is not a concern in normal driving.

The KYB are also a good alternative with stock springs if you don't want to modify the old housings.

I have a similar situation, so went for a standard setup.
Quote from: Craigjm on May  2, 2024, 23:30I've just done my shocks springs top mounts and drop links. KYB and standard springs. Makes a huge difference a complete refresh after a geo setup
Mine were done last year replacing 20 year old springs and shocks and without spending loads of money.

great day yesterday - all back together

Still struggling getting the EMB to connect to my Win 98 VM so not fired it yet. Currently sat doing software stuff to try make it work and I might even give the Jag a wash in the sun

Hopefully I can make it work tomorrow and also fill the engine mounts with Sikaflex
