Want to fit an amateur radio to a MR2 and am thinking of taking a feed from the fuse box under the front bonnet.

Can anyone tell me which to use?

A picture would be good.

Need about 8 amps continuous so fuse box is better.

Added to that might put the remote body of the radio under the bonnet.

Thanks anyway.

Do you have aircon?  If not then use the constant live to Fan 2 or Fan 3 (I forget which, it's the bottom one of the two) relays.

If you do then.. get the wire cutters out, you'll want to tap into one of the big live feeds under the fusebox.  From memory the white wire with green stripe is one such feed.

No air con.

But was just hoping to be able to put a simple blade connector in one of the unused fuse holders.

Ain't it that simple?

That's what I was suggesting you do - put a blade into the permanent live feed of the Fan 2 or Fan 3 relays.

There are no spare fuse holders that have a feed to them in the front fuse box - only those two relay holders..

Ahhh, now the penny has just dropped!

Thanks for that.

Is that in the box on the right as you look at the car? Just to the right of the spare wheel?
