As some of you maybe aware I've had my fair share of roadsters of the years.....
l viewtopic.php?f=9&t=41408&p=487898# (http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=41408&p=487898#) l
That brings me to Greeny, purchased as a low mileage 1 owner car in a rare colour (Forest green) I began trying to build my perfect roadster. Using a number of rare parts I had acquired over the years and number of rare / factory optional extras I've found a long the way.
This was taken outside the bodyshop when I was dropping the car off only a few days into ownership for the painting a fitment of the factory rare Toyota GB spats and skirts. This was after only a week of ownership. A few days passed by and the car was ready for collection
(http://i.imgur.com/vfVs0IS.jpg)
Paint match was excellent and the fitment was perfect! I also fitted my modified yellow JDM nose badge. That evening I replaced the standard wheels with black SP17's and loaded my tein springs into the car ready for my local garage to install the following day while I was at work.
Pre lowering outside the garage
(http://i.imgur.com/s5tVRWe.jpg)
With the tein springs fitted I was over the moon as the car looked and handled exactly how I wanted. At this stage I was more than happy and enjoyed driving her and attended a few local car meets / shows.
The V5 came back allowing me to put my plate on the car which I've always enjoyed
(I've had plenty of practice by now)
I didn't intend doing anything else to the car at this stage.
For the first time my mr2 was my second car and garaged when not in use, which allowed my to still enjoy owning and driving various other cars. None to date have been able to offer the same enjoyment as my roadster. A few months passed and I began looking for a TTE exhaust to finish off the rear of the car. I stumbled across a Remus which has the round tailpipes instead of the oval for a bargain price so I snapped it up!
Ding day 2014 was my second mr2 ROC outing (very bad I know) we traveled from Essex over to Wales for this special ROC EVENT. It was great to put a few faces to names. It was a great weekend only dampened by the poor weather. It was great to see a large gathering of roadsters together in one place and nice to see a couple of my old roadsters again.
Everyone is biased when it comes to there own car but I was truly shocked when greeny won "people's choice" s8) 8) s8) s:D :D s:D
(http://i.imgur.com/ZNBVlRd.jpg)
StuC even gave me an award s8) 8) s8) s:scared: :scared: s:scared:
A proud moment for me, this gave me more enthusiasm and further modding began! First on the list was replacing the softop. For low mileage car the roof was terrible! Perished and brittle. I started contacting local companies and getting quotes. I was s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce: s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce: with joy when I found out I could get a matching dark green mohair softop imported from the states. Delivery was 7-10 days which seemed to take for ever! To say I was over the moon was an understatement
(http://i.imgur.com/aYhdKOc.jpg)
A TTE style bar was too tempting not to purchase so one was purchased from the forum also.
Then the quest for more power began........
I purchased another roadster with the SUPER rare TTE Turbo kit fitted with the plan to swap the kit over to mine. After a few telephone conversations with Matt Performance the arrangements were made to take both cars to him for the swap to take place. Both cars were driven to Brimingham for the work to take place and within 48 hours both car were back on my drive with the turbo and uprated clutch now working perfectly in Greeny.
Five months of trouble free ownership over the winter months while being used as my daily driver takes me to March 2015. This marks one year ownership and also the longest ownership of any MR2 for me s:scared: :scared: s:scared: this really was commitment!
I had a few final parts left to fit which I've only just got round to installing. I'd purchased a JDM front number plate holder to hold my smaller front plate / Zunsport grills (front and rear) and Toyota GB ducktail spoiler. I've also changed my yellow JDM badge for a more subtle black one.
(http://i.imgur.com/gkV5vDZ.jpg) (http://imgur.com/gkV5vDZ)
This brings me to the present day. I've enjoyed owning and modifying my roadster and being part of the MR2 ROC and I'm hoping to have many more enjoyable years of ownership.
Thanks for looking.
I do believe this is my favourite mr2 in the country. Said it before, worth saying again.
This and Bernie's.
Still looking cracking fella. s:-D :-D s:-D
I have yet to see the green hood in person, so looking forward to that.
Thanks guys, I really need to attend more roadster gatherings. I'm already looking forward to Ding day 2016
Gorgeous car. :-) :-) :-)
Very very nice

I know exactly what your going through! Im in the same boat, do I want an utter machine to drive, or hold back on some performance to make a nicer looking 2!
Minimum i need is £350 paint work on 1 side and a door replacement on the other. Thats leave od scrapes and dints.
Then thre would be a couple of alloys to be refurbed. Or i might get them all dont the same colour as the engine.
I say you've succeeded in building the perfect roadster. I'm loving the GB OEM scheme (no random TRD business amongst the GB parts here!) There probably isn't a finer example of a stock - but fully optioned - third gen UK car in the country than greeny here.
I salute you!
EDIT: Not a fan of the replacement roof though it does look nice s:? :? s:?
I like the idea of preserving original body parts/panels/panes on cars.

Not quite sure its stock and fully gb optioned...
It's got JDM badges. JDM number plates holders. Zunsport grills front and rear. SP12 wheels etc. so not stock but I agree one of the best roadsters out there s:) :) s:)

Sod it , I've said it on facebook and Instagram and will say it again, this is by far the best mr2 I've ever seen all round.

Lovely looking car , I hope I can get mine looking that good.
So what's next...?
I will be upgrading the stereo and having a build behind the seats
Under seal protection and clean up
Install a boost gauge and tweak boost
Detail the engine bay

Get that boost gauge sorted dont think id be able to live without one having a turbo.

I can guarantee you you can live just fine without a boost gauge. They are a hoot to watch though haha.
i would want to know what boost its making to make sure its holding boost in line with the map. Alot of tte/sp owners don't know what boost there actually running. Im a facts and figures guy ha
Quote from: "s12vea"I'm happy with my gift from Rich yes s:) :) s:)
Glad its gone to a good home.
The tte turbo really has been fit and forget hench no need to worry about having a boost gauge, I fancy having one to see what boost its running currently and also I plan to tweak the boost hopefully gaining a few extra ponies.
Currently the car drives perfectly but you always end up wanting more.
If I get greedy I may upgrade the injectors and buy another piggy back ecu and get it mapped for bigger boost, we shall see.
For now I've fitted a Tims boost gauge for peace of mind.

All desirable bits, I would imagine some cars were spec'd up to help sell as the colour wasn't that popular in the uk. I searched for ages for one in this colour and have only seen one other in the flesh.
The on autotrader I shared the link with under 40k must be worth a look?
I dismissed, without viewing, the green one I eventually bought, because it was green as I'm not keen on green cars. Eventually went and viewed and realised its the perfect colour!
We have 1 in Rugby. Not a patch on Steve's though. s;-) ;-) s;-)
Again it would be interested to get the build numbers for each colour.
Hint hint stu..... You might as well do when you speak to Toyota about the Tf300 colours
I'm late to the party but i gotta say, its an amazing looking car! That colour is so rare for a roadster. And I like coffee.
Thank you
Really wish I had more time to drive her, but when I do I'm smiling from ear to ear.

great looking car, i do love this colour as well. it reminds me of the British racing green from the old days, ever thought about some gold touches? like dark bronze/gold wheels?
cheers tommy
I did consider bronze / light gold wheels maybe when I need the tyres replacing.
Black wheels keep it pretty stealth which I like also

black does look good i have to admit i like the stealth look, i have been looking into changing the wheel colour on mine too,
have been looking into this product m http://www.autodip.com/ (http://www.autodip.com/) m

yeah that could work really well i have often thought the mid night purple skyline gtrs are painted in would look ace on a dark coloured car like your colour or my black 2
shame that auto dip dont do a dark purple, but i think im gonna go either dark grey, white or lime green see how it turns out and if i dont like it i only lost 40 quid and a few hours and i'll just peal it off

mad, just look at how long you have had this one. if its an itch you need to scratch dont do it to greeny just in case its not for you.
Agree with you not changing greeny for a v6
Sent from my D5803 using Tapatalk
buy another and convert that.
I'm almost inclined to offer to buy the green machine to save it.
You would have first dibs when you come to your senses.
If I was doing it again I would buy a cheap donor car. You will be without the car for a long time and you will probably end up replacing the suspension, brakes etc (unless it has already been done to your car) so you may as well do it to a £600 car. You could also have it resprayed at the end so could have it green too! That way you dont have to make a decision straight away too and you can still be driving a great 2 while you wait. The waiting will not be so bad if you have a great car to drive.
Best to keep an old 2 on the road and a very nice example up together and unmolested. Plus bear in mind all the people who sell their 2 and then regret it within a month or two.
Get another car to do this on. Not your greeny. Greeny is epic. Do it to the red one if you must. Sell the turbo off that s:) :) s:)

Helen they cut bit of the car off to fit a V6 in.
Its too nice a car for that.
Plenty out there with blown engines or CAT D that would be the way i would go.
Sell green and with the money from red too you would have a 2gr almost in your grasp.
Thanks everyone for the feedback.
I couldn't justify 2gr money on a roadster but it would make an epic car! Think I'm going to keep turbo in place and maybe try and upgrade the power slightly.
For the love of cars.
So its an emanage ultimate and a charge cooler on the shoping list then.
After removal of the stock airbox.
I would do uprated intercooler / injectors / induction kit / boost controller / ecu and mapping.
But cost vs power increase comes into play. I'm around 200bhp so would see 30/40bhp increase and dollop of torque.
Or just leave alone. Lol

I saw a green one in Sheffield with gold wheels and thought that's a nice colour, really really suits it.
Did not know it was an actual Toyota colour , looks sooo good
It's one of the reasons I picked this car as I hadn't seen any this colour. I've only seen a handful for sale over the years

I have to admit that, generally, I'm not a green car person. In fact, for some reason I'm not keen on green clothes, walls, whatever really. Don't know why.
However, every now an then I see a car and green colour combination that I think really works, and this is one of those times. Great looking car. s:D :D s:D

I think the V6 is great. 1mz or 2gr but I wouldn't do it to yours. It's in way too good condition I think it's only something to do to rough example.
Putting on a supercharger or turbo is something easy to reverse V6 not.
2zz the same.
If you want more go then just upgrade your TTET to SP240 or beyond.
Otherwise sell up and start a project car like me.

Mot passed for another year. I've a few subtle changed planned for 2018
TTE banana to fit
Install my audio equipment that's been garage few years stored away
Replace tyres as rears need replacing shortly
Question....
In my quest for a set of TTE alloys which I'm yet to find at the right price / condition or in even in the right country, I might try my freshly refurbished standard facelift wheels that are currently attached to my yellow one. Fancy a different look for the old girl, or do I keep everything the same.
What does everyone think?
She is on SP alloys isnt she?
What colour are the std ones fella? Silver or black?
Yes currently on sp12's
My standard wheels are freshly refurbished black with Toyo's
Might swap them over at the weekend and see what they look like
One of these days you've got to give up the Toyos.
In that case, it will look very similar. Just less spokes! Lol.

After my rear tyres just passing the MOT I decided to replace my rears with the same Falken 914 I previously had fitted. Got a great deal with a company called Protyre @£84 per tyre fitted.
Leaving the tyre place I'm fully aware the roads are greasy and the tyres need to loose the silicon coating over the next few hundred miles, I pull out of junction onto the main road taking things slowly till I see a range rover speeding towards me! Foot down to avoid and a tad to much throttle quickly has me power sliding a good 150 yards down the main road (in the right direction) and out of danger.
Very much court me off guard but handled like a boss thankfully 8)
Slower reactions would of seen my car being broken for spares :'(
Stay safe people
Wowsers. Must have been a bit like :o ===~~~~~~~~ :D :-*

Currently driving around in a corrolla with a 1zz and even that is managing to spin it's wheels up in first.
It ain't pleasant out there people.
First time I've been court out since I passed my driving test all those years ok.

...and clean trousers on!
Sounds like you were very fortunate not to be playing with the kerbs. 8)
Very thankful for missing the kerbs stu
That Sir, as Greg Wallace would say, "is a thing of beauty"
Thank you kind sir
Finally got my TTE Banana spoiler fitted and gave the old girl a quick wash over.

Does look smart.
Apart from the TTE spoiler obviously. ;)
Far too nice a car for me to own.
What he ^^^^^^ said
@s12vea time to drive her now fella!!! ;)
Plenty of use this year for sure. Just the clutch to be sorted Friday and then plenty of miles ahead for me
Are you ready to be burned at the m6 toll plaza again then? ;)

That's why my other 2 is yellow
Which one are you taking to DD then?

It's not just green ones that look great with a TTE Spoiler, though a banana really should be yellow (take note Scotte!)
Shame I'm not going to make Ding Day to see it in person :'(
Today saw the closing of a chapter im 2 less for the first time in years, as Greg collected Greeny today. I'm sure I will stay active on the forum and Im confident it's gone to a good home and look forward to Greg putting his mark on the green machine.
I'm hoping to still attend ding day in my new purchase, save me a place by the bins... :'(
Final pictures in my ownership

As if you're not going to get another 2 ;)
Greeny looks gorgeous, what a car! It looks sad though with the Sold sign showing :'(. I'm sure Greg will look after it. :)
By the way Steve, what are the new wheels anyway???
Selling a mid engine rwd 2 seater for a family ford.
Sad.
Nooooooo, really? Quick, get Greeny back NOW!

Thanks mate! Greeny is being replaced by a car I've wanted since they were new a Focus Rs mk2
I should be collecting towards the end of the week, I can't wait!
Ah it was bit of a sh1tter anyway, pity the poor bloke whose gone an wasted hard earned on that money pit :P
A ford though mate, what are you a 90's double glazing salesman ?
You'll be back, and you know it.....
If the new owner reads that, i imagine they will look like.
Wow stunning car, certainly something to try and aspire to with my Green one!!!
Welcome Home
Dibs.
:-X
Congrats on getting her back. Of all the cars I felt you should've kept, this one was the one I felt most strongly about followed by the white Veilside.
I will save it Steve £3000 and will trailer it away collection within the hour
Sold my sable today as having both seemed greedy
The sable was a really clean example and it's gone to a good home and staying local
Now to focus on getting Greeny back to S12vea spec
Really pleased to have the car back!
Well see if you can keep it this time! Crikey, I can't really make that kind of statement, can I? ;)
R U going to get rid of all the red?
I can confirm lots of the red will be replaced with black yes.
Will have some pictures soon

Really looking forward to seeing this! I absolutely love a frog, sorry green MR2 :D I was really hoping to get a green one this time around but all the one's were pretty horrific - not that I've had the easiest time with mine(!)
First run out today for the mot now sporting its remake
@s12vea - In a word "GORGEOUS" ;D
@s12vea You need your shortened plate back on.

You need your shortened plate back on.
I had to put full size plate on for the mot, small plate will be resumed shortly
Mot Passed
Oil change
Cleaned MAF
Morning spent detailing
I'm seriously over the moon to have been given the chance to own this car again (the one that got away)
Tucked away in the garage awaiting a drive out tomorrow, forecast looks good maybe summer has arrived
You bought it back.
This place is a mad house.

You've been gone too long. You were superintendent of the madhouse not long ago. ;)
But S12vea buying back an ex really is sign of the end times.
He's probably finding it hard to find ones to his standard now so he is going to have to start going through the old ones again!
(Need to clarify, does owning one twice count on the "number of 2's I have owned" list?).
This is the second 2 I've owned twice
Makes me feel uncomfortable lol
I will say finding a clean example is tough nowadays

All the ones I've owned were rough so I won't hesitate to agree.
I've owned mine twice. Don't think I'd ever sell it again.
