I need to replace the main cat,p420 code. I picked up a toyo sport manifold. Does this need to wrapped to compensate for the lack of heat shields?

I am a big fan of wrapping manifolds.  It keeps the heat soak down in the engine compartment and speeds up gas flow.

Best done on the bench prior to installation.  Forgive me if you've done it before and I'm teaching my grandmother how to suck eggs, but wear long sleeves and gloves.

Soak the wrapping on water as it makes it easier to conform to the shape of the manifold, and buy good quality tape.

This will be fine:

I'm running a type cerified cat from Cats2U. It's been on for quite a few years and it's doing the job. The car aces emissions test.  I have it wrapped from the flexis to just past the cat itself.  A hot cat is a happy cat.  That's another ten metres of wrap and a tricky wrapping job, again best done on the bench.

Does wrapping also prevent the damage to the paint on the bumper? Just something I remember reading.

Well, the EML light has now switched itself off so I'm assuming the P420 code has cleared itself. Two things were done prior to the light coming on. The subframe was replaced & I did an oil change. The exhaust was smoke checked for leaks and the O2 sensor replaced. I also changed the airfiltefand cleaned the MAF. Still got the P420 code.
I'm wondering if I overfilled the oil and that has disputed now.
