Hello, I am considering an mr2 convertible, I really like the heated seats as I have never seen them in an mr2 before. One problem encountered is that they don't seem to warm up very much. Is that normal? I'm pondering this.

I fitted aftermarket heating elements and they are fine...

@beauharlan I have heated seats in mine and I don't find them amazing but they do the trick on a cold day. Give them a minute or so before they kick in before doing anything drastic.

I have retrofitted heated seats in one of my 2s. Installed it myself. A bit of hassle removing/reinstalling the seat covers and install the heater elements, but absolutely doable for a DIYer.

I find them a bit slow getting warm. But as soon as they are warmed up the heat is more than enough. Mine has 2 levels, and level 1 is sufficient.

Given the position of the switches, many a time a comfy passenger has put them on with their elbow unintentionally only to comment it's a bit warm.
