Suspension refresh: worth touching the toe bolts ?

I am planning to renew my suspension this week and then next week have a comprehensive wheel alignment at a motorsport garage.

I was wondering whether it would be wise to disturb the rear toe bolts ... I have read bad stories about them. I have sourced OEM toe bolts and plates so in theory it should go fine, but I'd rather not bite off more than I can chew.

That's how they look now:

I would obviously clean them thoroughly and soak them in plusgas over a day or two ... are there any risks ?

Thanks.

In principal I would do the cleaning and Plusgassing and leave the fitting to the alignment person, they should notice and be grateful for your efforts/ consideration.
If you break/ have a problem removing the old bolt you could have difficulty in getting the car to the workshop.

If they are to break I would rather deal with this myself than pay London mechanic prices ...

The thing is that every other bit of the suspension with an impact on alignment will be brand new (new shock absorbers, track rods, camber bolts if needed). Would be a pity not to adjust the rear toe if it's out of spec.

They're probably fine. Dont look too rusted in or anything so cant see there being an issue with them.

Thanks, will give it a go and take it slowly.
