Mystery Trim Piece

Just in the process of putting the last bits of the front end back on, bumper, arch liners frunk cover etc and spotted a piece for each side on the parts diagram I don't appear to have.  It's described as a fender protector, not sure where it goes either.

See attached pictures, it's labelled as part 4.

Maybe I'm being a complete berk, but I can't seem to figure it out.  It's not a show stopper but any help greatly appreciated.
