Title: SJ Autosport 2zz conversion kits
Post by: DropLinked on May 31, 2018, 19:41
I blew my 1zz up on a trackday recently, which means a 2zz swap is the only logical option...

I was going to try and source all the parts myself to keeps costs down, but came across a company selling complete conversion kits, but wanted to check if anyone had any experience of them.

Has anyone got a conversion kit from SJ Autosports?

Any thoughts?

My coversion was done through Sam at SJ. He supplied the parts and Rogue fitted them. I have had no problems with mine.

Others have had some issues with their cars where rogue didn't do the fitting. Sam breaks corrolla and celicas so can source what you want and will guarantee it for a few months. I got all the associated paperwork with mine.

Hope this helps

A source for parts fine but have seen one or 2 swaps done there and didn't like the look of them.

Thanks chaps.

I'll be doing the conversion myself, so just looking to find reputable sources.

Just buy a complete car from eBay or autotrader.
Headcase does some parts and can be very helpful with the swap or even do it for you.

I bought my 2zz conversion through Sam, all parts were from his company and install was done by Rogue as part of the overall package. Very pleased with the parts and install. Red lining it for past 2 years :)

Yeah that's right, I remember you had the engine with the cams. Still make you smile every time?

It was a nice ride.
Have been thinking getting more power out of the 2zz.
Turbo could be the wrong way to go with it.
Would it not muffle that lovely noise?
Perhaps some sort of supercharger or just extreme NA would be better.

I was very much impressed with your car Mike.
I wouldn't add any more power to be honest.

The way it is I think it had the TTE turbo power with the character of both 1zz and 2zz.
It pulls hard like a modified 1zz until 6200 and then comes to life properly and shoves you forward.

It has really made me reconsider 2zz,but it needs a standalone with those beautiful Stg2 cams and I can't afford that anytime soon :)

Your car sounds epic from behind Mike.

It certainly went well coming down that on ramp too!

Thanks guys. I'm hoping the standalone will give it a bit more...... it will be the only thing I can afford to do power wise for a few years. At least I will have everything in place for future power upgrades in the future.
