Title: A bad week gets worse (pics)
Post by: Slacey on April 5, 2006, 17:19
A really crap Monday. A terrible Tuesday. Now, after getting the car out for a top down drive in the sun, an appalling Wednesday  s:( :( s:(

The cause was a wall mounted bike rack holding two bikes - evidently it didn't like sitting on the wall  s:evil:  s:evil:

Gutted for you mate, truly gutted.

Personally, I reckon the bikes were jealous of the car and decided to attack it.  s:wink:  s:wink:

Sorry, I know this is no laughing matter.  s:oops:  s:oops:

Its a thought though because Ive a bike rack mounted on the wall of the garage loaded with a bike on too!!!! And to add to this there is a loaded wind surf board and sails suspended from the roof of the garage sitting over the 2 when its parked in it.!!  s:roll:  s:roll:    s:roll:  s:roll:

Methinks Ill be moving it this weekend.

Can imagine how you feel m8

Gutted for you!    s:( :( s:(

I had a "More Than" incident when a barbecue perched on the beams in the roof space of my garage attempted a KamiKaze leap one night and missed the car & hardtop by inches.

Now thats more than lucky!

ouch, know just how that feels  s:( :( s:(

Had a slab of ice fall off the roof and stove my bonnet in at New Year. If you look at my avatar it is a photo before the repair. Looked worse up close and cost the best part of £700 to put right.  s:shock:  s:shock:

Damn, Sean  s:( :( s:(  Sorry to see this  s:( :( s:(  Your car was so pristine, too.

Fingers crossed that Adam can get a black wing for you, I suppose? At least ours are bolt-on affairs.. small mercies, and all that.

Yeah, I've PM'd Adam earlier. And Graham - thanks for the condolences, but the bad news for you is that I will finally be getting that carbon bonnet sprayed as there is a dent in my stock one  s:wink:  s:wink:

I think time is against me on this one as I need to source a wing before going to the bodyshop, but you never know.

I saw your post over on SC.  Gah!  What a bummer.  I almost had an entire metal shelf full of stuff land on my last car (a Miata).  It came down because I had overloaded it and it was the cheap kind made out of L sections.  A corner L twisted and down she came, narrowly missing the car, me, and luckily my daughter playing in the driveway just outside.  My daughter learned some new words that day.  "Don't repeat what Daddy just said."  As it was, all I had to do was clean up some spilled oil.

Ahhhh Sean! You're car was SOOOOOOOO nice!!! Thats such a pisser!

Good job the damage was nothing more that superficial though. Doesn't make it any better right now I know, but at least that should be "relatively" fixable..............

Hope you get it back to normal mate cos I want to see the finished product!!!

Good luck!

This week is truly unbelieveable. I went out to pick Abby up to take her to the doctors when on the way a Volvo turnued left then at the last second pulled back into the traffic - I had to swerve into oncoming traffic to avoid him sideswiping me! I later found out that I'm not getting any form of pay rise this year either  s:( :( s:(

Anyway, on a brighter note I have got a good quote for the paint job, and Adam seems to have come good with a replacement wing, so it should be sorted soon - providing I survive any further disasters!

Working for 'the man' (big companies) sucks, doesn't it  s:? :? s:?  In the midst of all the presentations they keep giving here about how well we're doing, and our share price rocketing etc etc, my pay review granted me a whopping £150 pay rise (thats annual).. woo.. I feel so.. valued  s;) ;) s;)

Back on topic - good to hear Adam had a wing, at least  s:) :) s:)

It all depends.

No payrise one year means either a) the company you are working for are having a tough time and you need to decide whether it's worth your while staying around or b) you're underperforming and need to pull your socks up.

No payrise for multiple years means either a) your company know you aren't about to leave no matter what they do and they can afford to take the pi55, b) you still havent found the clue at b) above, or c) they fully intend to get shot of you by pi55ing you off so much you resign.

For what it's worth, why don't you try dent wizzard? http://www.dentwizard.com/site/de/en/index.htm

i had a "small" dent, and they fixed it perfectly. Don't know if they are in the UK though....  s:? :? s:?

Yep... this week gets better and better!

New TV yesterday took £1K out of the savings  s:cry:  s:cry:   but on a brighter note, its an LCD and picture quality is fab! Sean is pleased!

As I said to Sean, no-one is out to get him - but with me taking extended maternity leave it meant that Sean and I couldn't spend anything and every spare penny had to go into the savings for a 'just incase' reason! I returned to work this week after almost 1 year out and this month will be paid my normally salary! So, basically things have gone 'POP' and 'BANG'  because Sean hasn't spoilt the car lately and is now able to spend again  s:wink:  s:wink:  !

We have had a very expensive week and my salary at the end of this month will be there to cover it   s:lol:  s:lol:

I think it's rotten what has happened these past few days, but have laughed my ass off too! We are going out this weekend to buy a shed for the bikes as well as other bits.

The sad thing is though that despite Seans efforts we don't think the car will be sorted before the dyno day   s:cry:  s:cry: . I will follow down in good old trusty (my yaris!) with the back full of car bits to leave at SP!
