They came from a Toyota dealership in Germany, to be exact  s;) ;) s;)   They're a standard Toyota item - sadly only available in Germany (possibly elsewhere in mainland Europe, I'm not sure)

Rob, I'm sure a bit of googling and e-mailing would get a quote from a German dealership.

Not sure what Toyota supply lines are like, but if you could get a Toyota part number could a UK dealer get it from wherever they are made (Japan, Germany??)

Getting this fixed up would make quite a few owners happy.

P.S. I've got mine!   s:wink:  s:wink:

IIRC, they weren't really an "official" Toyota product, but just something that Toyota Germany had made and sold. Available only there and nowhere else. I also recall reading that they are no longer for sale, cause the Roadster isn't for sale anymore.  s:? :? s:?

You can contact Carsten at Joerg Bach Automobile in Germany (http://jb-automobile.com/).

I've bought some sets from him a while ago. He's a very nice guy who owns a Toyota dealership and drives a beautiful silver RS200 MR2!   s:D :D s:D

You can tell him that Claudio from the Italian Club gave you his contact. If the bags are still available, he's the person who can source them fr you!   s:wink:  s:wink:

Hi Rob,

If the price is right I would be interested, maybe worth saying that we would want 2, might reduce cost or postage?

If these are no longer being manufactured and there won't be any more of them does that mean that those of us who do have them just had the contents of our luggage bins turned into GOLD?!?

If so, who wants to swap something really good for mine? I've never actually used them but if anyone wanted to make me a HUGE offer I could be tempted   s:wink:  s:wink:

Not mine, I don't really have any desire to sell them. Unless, like I said, the offer is one I couldn't refuse   s:wink:  s:wink:

I think usually they go for 70 - 80 quid. however, with the recent revelations they may go for more.

Howdy!

New here, live in Germany and drive a '01 W3 in YELLOW!

I bought a used set of bags on eBay, now how do I clean them? Has anyone tried tossing them in the washing machine?

yes tossed mine in the washing machine but make sure you take out the cardboard bit at the bottom.  Mine came out with no damage at all  s:) :) s:)

The current MrT MR2 Roadster Accessories leaflet advertises a leather holdall.    S'man.
Title:
Post by: Anonymous on December 14, 2006, 19:40
I've got that, and it's just a normal leather holdall with a little MR2 Roadster tag that costs £70. 'Tis nice, but I wouldn't pay for it.

Not that I actually paid for mine, of course.  s;) ;) s;)

Post by: filcee on December 14, 2006, 21:19
I have a pair of the leather holdalls (and I paid for 'em. Doh!  s:roll:  s:roll:  ).

They are expensive, yes, but after 5 1/2 years of pretty much weekly use as I am away working most of the time, I have only a slight tear in the zip stitching on one bag. I could probably get it fixed at the local cobblers for less than a fiver, and get at least another five years out of them.  On that basis, I have to say that they were good value for the price paid.

One of my metal zip-end things has broken on mine.  s:( :( s:(

Hi Everyone,

The April 2003  Toyota MR2 Roadster Accessories leaflet offers a leather holdall 'designed to fit perfectly into the MR2's storage space....'
I would think it's still available.  S'man.

i bought mine last year. they have not been out of the packaging yet.

never got round to using them, and with baby coming i dont think i will either.

someone make me a generous offer and i will consider it. (money made will be split between baby fund and a donation to club funds)
