Title: H&S Fitting pictures
Post by: Anonymous on November 19, 2003, 18:26
For someone working in IT I'm amazed I can't find a simple, free hosting website that does what I want it to do and nothing more or nothing less.

I'm bored and I want to go home so I've decided to offer my photo's to Kris and Craig.

Once they are up I'll add any comments worth mentioning.

Mike.

[MODERATOR EDITED (mph): excessively large images changed to links]

Well obviousy there is a bit of interest here (37 views of this post in one day).  Craig and Kris are a little slow responding so after some excellent advice I've decided to upload the photo's myself to the spydermagazine site.

Not a moderator replying, but I would suggest 800x600 max. with web (256) colours.  It seems a lot of photo-processing programs will do this.

You could also provides links to the full version for those who are interested.

FWIW, I posted some pics after the mids meet, and converted them to web colours only.  My digicam does 2200x1400 (approx.) with file sizes around 1.5MB.  The conversion made the pics about 20% of that initial size.

I would not bother droping them to 256 colours, just save it as a JPG, depening on your program use say 15-20% compression or medium quality & if the image is say over 100k then i would link to it instead. Digital cameras sometimes take photos at something like 150-300dpi, so you may as well drop this down to 72dpi for web images.
