Recent 3rd party claim while driving wife's car. Very efficient and no forms. They tried to change their minds after two weeks and make me claim on wife's insurance, but they backed down when my wife made an angry phone call!
Also made a claim against a third party. If I'd used the DL preferred repairer I wouldn't have had to pay anything, and I think it would have been processed very efficiently. But I decided to buck the system and insist on a particular garage. You then have to pay the garage for the repair and claim the money back from DL... this took several letters, phone calls and faxes.

For me, DL have been easily the cheapest for many years.
If you need repairs, consider using the DL preferred repairer. I insisted on using an Alfa garage (previous car), only to find the Alfa dealer farms it out to a 3rd party... and then found he was a clown! I might as well have taken a chance on the DL repairer!

have used Bell Direct in a previous policy for a Mk1 and had superb service. The day after the accident, the car was taken on the back of a truck, the inspection was done via Internet and the cheque for the claim was in my hand by th end of the week. Excellent service. Only reason I changed from them after this was because Elephant undercut the price by £50. Now, Elephant are more expensive than Bell, so gone back to them. Would highly recommend them.

Based on a 14k annual mileage as it's my daily drive and with no claims protection. Very good to deal with on the phone. Slight bit of negotiation required about 'proving' a quote to be beaten but got there in the end, and I had to ask for third party cover on other cars (because I drive a convertible apparently). There is also a fair bit of paperwork to sort out/sign (including copies of all driving licenses - both parts) but all in all good to deal with. They have also assured me many further modifications won't incur a premium increase but I've yet to test it.

Just got my '2' covered with Aviva on Multicar. 04 reg MR2 with all mods covered and 6 month old Toyota Auris Hybrid £380 all in, so can't be bad! Moved away from Admiral as they wouldn't cover Auris with New for Old and they put the premium up by £20 as I'm now retired!!! No longer using the MR2 to commute to work and milage reduced and they put the premium up. Bonkers.

Just updated my insurance with Lancaster. Selling the Hyundai so down to just the 1 car, and needed to increase the annual mileage a bit to compensate because of commuting. Increased to 6,000 miles (from 3,000) although I doubt I'll be doing much more than 4,000 and only did about 1,500 previously.
An extra £82 for the remaining 10 months of the policy. The extra on the premium still equated to less than a quote from churchill.

Airsports are defiantly worth a go for quote and was the best i could get but i cancelled them for certain reasons to myself.

So mine has gone up considerably since changing to a 2ZZ.
Highway requote with Greenlight was going to be £293. I've managed to get it down to £270 using Flux (no-one else could get near).
Quite annoying when I see people getting £105 for a 1ZZ. It's not that different - car is fairly standard other than the engine now (old one wasn't).
I'm 50, full NCB, it's a 2nd car and insured for only 5k a year. I live in a "Green" area (low insurance) and apparently being a "club" member, it can lower the insurance by 20%.
Whereas my daily has 1 years NCB. It's a Mercedes with not dissimilar BHP, miles more torque and is insured for lots of miles (12k I think?) including business mileage.
