The worrying answer to the question would be that's not all the MR2s I've owned. I will have to hunt down the other pics. The veilside was build by a member on the forum many years ago at great cost, the car was then sold to someone who owned a large vibe audio dealership, it was gonna be used as a demo car for the brand. That was until they went into administration. I purchased from them and used the car till something else came along. Great bit of kit as long as you like fibre glass ! Ive always liked the veilside kit! It was factory painted in white which was also nice as not many of those in the UK.
It still belongs to a member on forum now.
My kit was white when I fitted it. There not the best quality in the world though and took a little fettling to make fit. O e thing that's a real let down is the fuel filler cap. Very flimsy indeed and something I plan to change

Your right the fuel filler was terrible and very cheap.
Quote from: "Markb"All very nice.......you like your hardtops as well. s:D :D s:D
I do like the hardtop it makes the car look better and the car feels more solid with it on.
Yeah I plan to change that for a sparco one with a metal filler neck... basically the plan is to drill a hole in the veilside filler cap as you can't get aftermarket ones that big. Mount the sparco one inside it then flush it into the kit so I'm left with just the sparco showing
Like this....

B'jesus thats allot of the same cars! s:crazyeyes:  s:crazyeyes:
One question, Why so many cars and not kept with the same one for longer?
Good question - I found it cheaper to change car than to mod the one i had so i would change to different spec rather than mod the original 2. It then became a hobby. This was possible most of the time. If I had room I would of loved to run two 2s then I could have daily driver and toy.
More of an enthusiast than me! A man who loves his two's.... me, only had the one!
s:D :D s:D that is a nice collection 2s and that the ones we can see s:) :) s:)
love to see the full list of what came 1st leading up to the present and saying why you moved on to each one s:) :) s:)
keep up the good work and lets us no when u will start keeping them to open up a 2 museum s:lol:  s:lol: s:lol:  s:lol:
Yep, a very nice collection, and I thought I was doing well, having had 5 Roadsters!! s:wink:  s:wink:
Recognise a few of those and have owned 2 of them as well. ( still own 1)
An interesting approach to experiencing different mods, colours and specs. Like it. s8) 8) s8)
I going to try and dig out all the other pics just need to find my old hard drive. Which I could combine all of them to make one perfect car.
I like the variety in it all PFL/FL/Hardtop/No Hartop
I am guessing that some of these have been turbo'd and some with engine swaps?
All of the colours (so far) seem pretty 'safe' though. Plans for a lary yellow or green one?
EDIT: Just noticed your sig! doh! s:lol:  s:lol:
Haven't had a engine swap yet. Maybe in the future with a different roadster to the one I currently own. Sure it will happen as I fancy a v6 at some point.

Only just seen this thread!
the white one was pretty mad, different and although not normally my cup of tea it looked pretty good. Guess that's the one that got ruined, real shame.
Your current green one is probably my favourite, very rare subtle and classy s:) :) s:)
Thanks mate.
Each and everyone one of them has been special in there own way, but my green one has ticked all the boxes for me s:) :) s:)

I have tried to purchase this 2 for the past ten years. Dubs / Mark (previous owner) worked at my local Toyota garage and I often would admire this car. Same say I blame this very car for my mr2 addition.
Some of you will also notice that the spec is the same as greeny.... s8) 8) s8)
Really should buy a hardtop for greeny..... Stu runs off to work his magic on photoshop
I really really hate you.
Lucky bugger.
Red with hardtop looks awsome not sure if i have seen one before.
Think you are the Mr in MR2 Steve you have a cracking pair of 2's now can't see them getting moved on like the others from your stable !
Just need to extend the garage now to fit both in.
Gorgeous Steve, both r equally awesome! I must admit i do love a red 2, I'm just nt quite in love with Foxy yet
but once i pick her up from Dumfries on the 22nd April, it'll be better. I do think the red looks
fantastic but then i like the green too but red just wins! s:? :? s:?
Nice cars.
Twin turbos!
What wheels and size are on the red one?

I have seen it at ding day 2014 roof down and on Nigels drive come to think of it but the wheels and bodykit really make it pop.

Question is... Which one is coming to DD?
The green machine will be attending ding day. Would love to bring both but it just won't be happening
See a Celica in this green colour up for sale on-line at the moment. I don't think there were many of them either.

That was back in 2003
22 roadsters in 14 years.
By my calcs. that's 1.57 Roadsters a year or a purchase roughly every 8 months (plus a sale roughly every 8 months).

I keep reading through this thread, they're all fantastic Steve. Do you ever keep up with where your old ones went? I tried to find my old black PFL, but not MOT'd or SORN so guessing it's no more. Nearly gets me tearful s:( :( s:(
Looks like a great example!
After the demise of my last one and the paranoia Its left me with when driving its replacement I'm considering yellow paint as a safety feature, people may actually see you coming.
Much plans for this one?
I'd second the vote for the black badge.

Many I should of kept to be honest but part of my mr2 experience has been the fun of chopping and changing.
My one regret was not taking many pictures of the original reg numbers so I could keep track of them. Plus a few pictures have been lost along the way.
Some have stayed within the club which is nice to see

Not sure on plans for this one yet too many options really, at the moment just to give the car a good machine polish and detail I've ordered new tyres and wheels have been booked in for refurb.
Anything interesting will happen after that I guess

The yellow one had a number of people shown interest should I sell hence now advert.
I don't plan on parting with the green one as I know I wouldn't be able to replace should I fancy an other.
But everything has a price I guess....
Or something special would have to tempt me away.

I wanted greeny Steve :). In fact I would've had the yellow peril! Well here's to another female owner, I hope she joins, we need some girl power on here! :). Good to meet you and your wife at DD.
Was nice to meet you too, I forgot about that :-[

Im down to just one MR2 again, my yellow peril has left my driveway for the last time.
I've sold to a lovely lady who I've been told will be joining the ROC shortly.
I've been promised she will be kept in tip-top condition and he alloys kerb free.
A sad day but glad to pass on to someone who will appreciate as much as me
Not sure where you stand within the UCC now. Not many ex-owners. I can only think of 1.
Perhaps it's gonna need a UCC vote! Lol.

If they drove it in it would be driven out.
Under its own steam at least.
My latest purchase...... a car a few of you already know ;)
### JACK ###
I have a few things planned to make my own mark on an already well sorted well looked after car.
Genuinely missed not owning a 2 I can safely say they offer something that not many cars can offer
First jobs for me will be a good detail and getting the paint work up to Steve spec then I have a few options around styling and restyling a few bits.
Plenty of pictures to follow shortly
Very glad to be back behind the wheel of a Toyota again :)
Good to have you back in the club properly. :)
Now... do we start a 'how long will steve keep this one?' thread! ;) ;)

Bloody auto correct lol
I thought I would update the thread with my short journey with Jack and journey since
My journey with Jack was very much short lived as I purchased in good faith due to a number of parts that made the car very appealing, and the excitement of having a much loved turbo'd 2
After my 4 hour drive back home and a proper look over the car I knew that the car wasn't right for me, there was a number of small things I wasn't happy with, prob due to being spoilt by some of my previous examples.
I was always going to be a hard man to please.
Before I purchased I said to Pat that if the car wasn't up to my standards I would move the turbo kit over to another car. I wanted to make this point clear before taking ownership, as it was always possible it would happen.
Once my mind was made up I had the car put back to standard and fixed a number of things to make it ready for its Mot which it passed with flying colours.
Before putting up for sale I notified Pat as didn't want Pat or Helen stumbling across it with out being told.
The paintwork cleaned up will and the underside was in excellent condition.
I've had a number of 2s as your all aware and I've used parts from many to make something that I'm proud to own and drive and at the same time I've sold many parts to make other people's cars Unique.
The car sold quickly and the new owner has taken the car up north and really loves his first ownership of a 2.
Mr2s have played an important part of my life and they will continue to after my latest purchase which I will write about shortly.
I took some time to respond as it was safer for all parties involved and always feel it's important to hear all sides of the story. If anyone would like to talk to me face to face at ding day or national day feel free to pop over for a chat.
I will attach a few pics of Jack after a deep clean which I'm sure most people will have seen in the advert.

My hunt continued for something special to make my mark on. I have been trying to purchase a TF300 from someone but the situation has complicated due to ill health and as of yet hasn't been successful so given the family time and space. But the hunt went on..
I had also sold my focus RS and have been Contemplating purchasing a GT86 to sit aside my future MR2 and after much hunting I found "the one" a red car with red and black interior 2014 with 39k. The deal was done and the garage offered to deliver the car to me last Sunday.
The car arrived everything looked good but.......

Three dents had appeared on the front bonnet that driver and the garage both blamed each other for?!
The dealership agreed that they would resolve either way so I was overly bother. I did a few miles on the Sunday all was good the handling is more lotus like than Toyota and the car looked amazing!
My next day off was Wednesday and couldn't wait to take my boy out for spin, started the car and it sounded rough as old nails.... wasn't happy
Then started driving the car and there was a horrible whining / vibration coming from the gearbox diff. It was shaking the whole car at certain rpm and worse when turning left.
With that I called the garage and they offered to take the car back and have given a full refund.
I'm disappointed but grateful that handled everything swiftly. My GT86 ownership lasted 3 whole days. :-\
I'm normally pretty good at finding cars but at some point my luck had to run out :o

That's because at any given time you know EVRY car for sale within a 500 mile radius!!
Like many of you I'm always looking for mr2 related stuff online and I stumbled across something that looked special, with very few pictures I called the number on the advert and had a great chat with a lovely guy of 73 and how they were selling the family mr2.
The car in question hasn't seen rain and been garaged since day one :-* :-*
I had to view this car! Got up early this morning and traveled to Gravesend to be greeted by the most genuine owners of an amazing car that has been loved for years. The car was wrapped under blankets in a lovely heated garage.
They showed me round the car and took me for a test drive, I was sold 8)

Super Art has a set.
You do like big wheels mate don't you.
Arthur has a different set of TTE alloys very true.
Looking forward to seeing how they fill the arches.

Mine are arguably rarer (read as less popular/desirable 😂) as I've seen 4 sets of Grandstands come to the Uk now but there aren't any Grand Prix wheels in the UK. Chicane is what I'm really after but I may as well be asking for the moon.
I do like the grandstands though, very of the period whereas the Grandprix on mine look a bit too modern for the car.
The rare parts make the difference mate
Hopefully see your car in the flesh one day

This week chilli red went up for sale to make way for my new arrival silver tf300 SP Turbo a few of you may have seen it advertised on the forum a couple of weeks ago.
Before purchasing the car I had secured a number of bits ready for when I went turbo with chilli red but finding this car for sale saved me the hassle of turboing mine.
A real shame as chilli red is a very clean and genuine example
I have a number of things I will be addressing first:-
Removal of the black vinyl stickers
Changing the exhaust to the Uber rare SP exhaust which completes the turbo kit
Changing the wheels to something more suitable
Removal of the genuine carbon fibre Audi TTRS spoiler and replacing with a Toyota GB ducktail
Fitting my Vibe car audio which was removed from greeny
Progress pictures to follow
Must admit if i was looking to buy, i would have it. Photos of other red ones i have seen put me of the colour but that , especially (for me) with the h/top looks spot on..
Few pics showing pics from the advert and collect
Update on chilli red...
Advertised for sale Sunday, first viewing and deposit paid with collection next week when v5 comes back with original reg. Sold to a chap who currently owns a mk1.
Will be sad to see this car go as genuinely not many as clean as this one.
My two hour journey home after collecting the tf300 cheered me up
What a car :)
Within a few days of ownership the work had began, with a helping hand from Matt Lee and before I'd even taken delivery the below was fitted
Freshly refurbed SP alloys in silver with Uniroyal RainSport3 tyres
Removed the custom exhaust and replaced with SP backbox
Once back at mine the small changes continue
All the black vinyl wrap has been removed
The black plasti dip windscreen surround is now back to oem silver
Installed my pioneer double din head unit
Added black front JDM badge
While removing the black vinyl some of the paint was removed so I dropped the car off today to have that restored
It still ceases to amaze me just how many 2's you have owned.
I am glad you are back in a 2 which puts a smile on your face. :)

Someone has to look good! ;)
Managed to fit my sp badges today and may I say what a great job the one and only StuC did to reproduce them, especially from my rough drawings and measurements ;)
I also swapped engine lid over to the original one without the carbon spoiler as it suits my theme, shame really as the carbon looked nice and the spoiler followed the lines perfectly considering it was from an Audi TTRS.
The car is fitted with a tiny lip spoiler which I think suits the well until I have got my Toyota Ducktail spoiler.
I also got around to fitting my zunsport front grill and swapped over my front plate to my original smaller design
Ordered new Toyota rear badge
Few small jobs for next week......
Fit boost gauge
Clean maf
Fit Toyota rear badge
Look at the passenger rear arch as the tyre is catching slightly
Then the fun bit......spend some quality time detailing the car
Few snaps ;D
Very nice mate.
Hopefully mine will look that good in a year or so!

Mischief... managed! :D
Managed to get a few jobs done this week
Full detail of the bodywork and roof, used some great roof cleaner by meguiars which has transformed the roof then treated with autoglym vinyl treatment for future protection
Cleaned maf - always surprises me what a difference this can make
Fitted boost gauge so I can keep an eye on things, currently running max of 9psi which seems about right
I've got the car booked in for geo next week as the alignment is way out it would seem, I'm guessing not been touched since the car was fitted with tein springs a few years ago
Also continued to removed random stickers that weren't my cup of tea
Almost forgot .....
Fitted oem chrome Toyota rear badge
It's sometimes the little things that make the difference :)
Next weeks project is to soundproof the doors and uprate the door speakers then deep clean the interior and recondition the Alcantara seats
Should be able to put a few more miles on the car next week as only covered 300 since purchase.
Few of the above jobs completed over the past few weeks and a couple of hundred enjoyable miles driven also
Still searching for a few rare bits, I'm sure I will stumble across them at some point...... I hope so at least
Sourced my final rear badges that were missing.
Tf "waves"
Centre MR2
My missing zunsport front grill badge
Finally got my geo sorted, out cars are so sensitive to this
Sourced a jdm rev5 front number plate holder
I've been trying to use mine as much as possible for work trips and the plus side is they pay mileage ;)
Just clocked over 700 miles since ownership and still enjoying every mile.
My next mission is to make an underdash sub box to complete my stereo set up just need to find the time.
I'm still also contemplating tte style bar or similar and possibly a matching hardtop? Also looking for a ducktail rear spoiler.
Should anyone have this available please let me know.

Fully agree with StuC re the hardtop question. Soft-top in summer & hardtop in winter & swopped when the clocks change. :)
Looks like I will be on the look out for a facelift silver with Ducktail spoiler and TTE roll bar over the winter months.
Few jobs done over the past few weeks
Installed my vibe 4 channel amp and vibe 6" sub
Replaced my eBay boost gauge with a Tims boost gauge
Still looking for a FL silver hardtop
Managed to do a few hundred miles for a couple of work trips to blast the cobwebs away.

Weather was food so managed some roof down driving today.
Back home and managed to give it a quick wash and wax
I gave the interior a good clean and tried something I'd seen on fb.
Used a "magic sponge" on the steering wheel and gear knob and wow!
It removed the shiny look and restored both the the original factory mat finish.

Welcome to the club! ;)
I thought it was a super-bright LED :o ;)
Genuinely never seen it before lol
Spent sometime today restoring the Alcantara seats as they were showing signs of wear. Special clear to gently clean them and lightly shave them to remove any bobbles. Massive improvement but more time needed once the weather warms up.
Also my exhaust started to blow last week so had the car booked in at a local garage and found out two bolts holding the turbo to manifold had worked loose and a blanking bung had fallen out.
Very simple fix and it's like a completely different car! It was fast before but bloody hell is different level now! It must have been blowing slightly the whole time I've owned the car and only recently got worse.
Also decided to replace the maf which has restored a smooth idle.
After doing a few miles with roof down today it's given me enthusiasm to spend some money getting a few little bits changed
Let the spending begin :)
P.s the search for gt86 has been parked for now
Andy had the car collected the car this evening and heading back to sunny Kent, end of a chapter for now.
But we all know I will prob have another 2 in the not so distant future ;)
Nice to meet you again Andy - enjoy the boost :)
I think I've purchased another 2
:o
You cannot leave us hanging like that.
I can confirm I have purchased another 2
That came very much out of the blue

At what point will the Guinness book representatives be coming round I wonder.
Congratulations?

Does that mean it is a blue one Steve? I knew you couldn't keep away. Congratulations. Pics please.
More information to follow once I've collected next week :)
I'm calling a wide body turbo, that's just been up for very reasonable money.....
I did see the wide body and it's good value but not a car for me (I nearly bought that car when it was standard body)
Car was collected yesterday but I'm yet to see it in person
It's a facelift car in blue with black leather and it's stock as stock can be, been garaged it's whole life and covered just 20000 miles
I've never seen a set of headlights look so clean!
I wasn't looking for another 2 but couldn't pass the opportunity up as cars like this don't come up very often
Not 100% sure what I will be doing with the car but with enjoy what ever direction the journey takes me.
Pictures to follow once the car has been pampered by me
1st purchase today has been some eibach springs so keeping it standard hasn't lasted long Possible more to follow
Had a quick tally up this evening of my total mk3 ownership since 2003
5x blue
7x silver
6x red
3x black
1x White
1x green
2x sable
1x yellow
I haven't even owned 26 cars let alone 26 of one kind!
The yellow one is still in safe hands and doing well.
Just out of interest, how many are still in the club mate?
I see I was right about the colour then. ;D
Collected my car today and enjoyed the drive back home.
The engine is so quiet and the gearbox silky smooth
Eibach springs have been fitted and they are bedding in nicely
Few jobs for next week:-
Fit JDM nose badge
Collect my wheels from Wheel Renov8, I've chosen a different colour this time
Full Geo
Full day detailing
Fit my smaller front plate and JDM holder
Fit my Bluetooth stereo
Fix the aerial which won't retract fully (any advise would be great)
Then it's time to round up the interesting bits :)
Yesterday saw a full day of detailing and maintenance
Drains cleaned
Roof conditioned
Wheels back from being refurbished
Seats out and interior cleaned
Paintwork machine 3 stage polished and waxed
Looks much better now :)
Few pics
Very nice Steve, where do you find these cars? Looks fabulous, I do like that blue too! ;D
Every so often a little Gem comes up for sale and I have to own it.
The blue has cleaned up well, been a long time since I've owned a blue one. All the metallic colours polish up well Sable / green / blue
Installed the front speakers and flash taped the doors
Really pleased with the JL Audio front speakers very crisp sound and punchy bass
Productive day 8)

No, manifold and sports cat, got a Blitz Nurspec R rear box to go on, I just wanted to swap it all in one go.
Hopefully they will get things sorted quickly for you.
Last week managed to source an almost full Toyota GB body kit so dropped off to body shop to begin painting.
I have a tte banana spoiler that I'm
Undecided on whether to fit so may have this for sale shortly
I think you should fit the banana....it completes the overall look IMO ;)
It's a marmite spoiler and I'm not sold on it this time. But at the same time I like it hahaha
Started cleaning and refurbishing some red leather seats as I like the idea of red and blue combo.
I've Cleaned them but feel they Still need to be recoloured, on recommendation I've bought a product called "scratch doctor" and plan to strip the seats down and give it a try.
Wish me luck.......
Do you mean scratch doctor? That looks a bit like the gliptone dye I used on my red seats yesterday (applied with a tiny square of foam). I bought a gliptone kit with some cleaner, the red dye and the conditioner.
I have done this a few times to mine and they look better but not like the transformational shots you see online!
I recommend the gliptone conditioner as you meed to protect the dye and feed the leather after you have dyed them.
Yes that's the stuff. It came out really well, and yes always feed the leather after, I use autoglym leather conditioner.
After all my hard work I think I prefer the black leather I currently have, So red seats are now up for sale.
Red seats collected today, making space temporarily in the garage
Plus an MR2 first for me, I've purchased Parts once owned by myself before
Pictures to follow

Weird
Collected car from body shop today,
Toyota GB spats / side skirts and Ducktail
Also fitted my old SP Alloys from my green car which I purchased a few weeks back
things are coming along nicely
I've got the wheels being refurbished next weekend and unsure of what colour and ideas?
Blacks wheels always look like they are lost in the arches. My favourite is generally black wheel with a diamond cut face then lacquered. Benefits of black with silver face.
Not sure I've even seen that on an SP wheel?
How about gold wheels?
I did think of gold wheels, but not sure if I'm brave enough.
I agree black wheels are lost and you loose the wheel design, I like the idea of silver or possibly the bronze colour I had my FL wheels done.
Gold wheels always used to look good on the blue Subaru's...should suit your car too. I also like the idea of the SP's being gloss black and then diamond cut...now that would be unique ;) . SP's look great in my view...the best looking wheel on an MR2 :)

Hi there,
I'd like to restore/revive my red leather seats and having looked on the Gliptone website they ask for the trim code when ordering. Do you know the trim code you used for your kit please?
Cheers.

Just had a look at their website but couldnt tell what I bought as it was probably 5 yrs ago now. I got a kit with the wash, a bottle of dye (small) and the conditioner. You apply it with a tiny square of foam just laid flat side onto the leather. I couldnt even see a colour chart which seemed a bit daft so maybe I missed that? I would e-mail them and tell them your car seat colour, model and year and ask what colour, at least if they send the wrong colour you are covered but I think they will know.

Scratch doctor is a great product and easy to apply and differences are huge. eBay purchase at sub £15 well worth a try
After trusting the guys @ rimrenov8 colchester with colour choice I now have this, what do you think?
It's a TVR paint and looks black until direct sunlight hits then the colours pop from all angles, pictures can't do them justice
Yes, I like those Steve - don't scuff them though! :-\
Looks good, I guess that's an amalgam of the various colours you've had over the various 2's you've enjoyed.
Pleased to see someone with your 2 experience choosing Falken's

Falken tyres have been good to me, these SP alloys were originally mine that I bought back recently. I replaced the tyres just before I sold the car and they hadn't covered many miles since.

In my opinion the SP12s are the best suited wheels for any modified 2 Subject to someone looking to increase wheel size over stock
But I'm sure this has been discussed before ;)
Soo many random colours when the light hits them :o
Crazy colours
Dropped my car off yesterday to have a few more ponies added, should have it back by the end of the week.
I'm looking forward to the drive home

Where'd you drop it off? And is this The go faster stripe kind of extra power or a bolt on?
The car should be considerably faster on my return trip home.

I love how these wheels have captured your attention. I'd like you are memorised by then.
I bet the kids are now like...
"Yeah dad, they change colour... we know!!"
They are kinda cool though. 😂
Collected the car yesterday
Fresh gear oil
Full service
Plus a Megillian full underbrace
As much as the drive home being much quicker, the under-brace was the biggest surprise! Turn in and scuttle shake hugely reduced and something I've over looked many times
Few jobs left to do then project complete :-
Then a much needed clean and detail (Pics to follow)
Question being what next?
I have the most enjoyment hunting down the rare parts and building / modifying
(Not forgetting cleaning them)
The S12VEA you all know can't keep a car for long but what should I do next?
I have a few other car calling me.....
Answers on a postcard
P.s you all know I've had lots of MR2s but what's my total owned car count?
Couple of hundred faultless miles covered in some crazy UK heat and all seems good
I really have enjoyed building this car and sourcing all those rare parts and everything has come together nicely but....I've been naughty and driven a couple of gt86 and I think I'm tempted
Subject to finding a suitable car she maybe in the for sale section shortly
loving this thread, that's dedication to the '2 :)
I spotted a very nice car on ebay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-MR2-Roadster-Facelift-22k/193642435812?hash=item2d15fd14e4:g:6WIAAOSw9UVfS8Y1) that looks remarkably similar to your avatar... but the description doesn't mention the turbo or the underbrace - are you removing them for sale, or are you working on a few cars?
That would be mine, unfortunately the only way to recover my investment is to remove the above
They both have gone to new home and will be installed shortly
GT86 hunt is currently on and I'm viewing something tomorrow which on paper looks perfect
This blue mr2 is possibly one of the best condition cars for sale currently and I'm sure the next owner will continue the enjoy

Well I did think that with everyone wearing "masks" now could be a good time for bank robbers, with everybody looking the "same" but when I went into our village chemist for the first time wearing one they recognised me. So that idea won't work for me!
My Mr2 was collected last week and headed down to sunny Plymouth to become stable mate to his mk2 Rev5 so going to a good home
After many false starts and a couple of wasted journeys I have collected my replacement
2014 GT86 TRD edition
One of only 177 cars made and very few in Black
Nice :) thankfully it hasnt got that god awful huge rear spoiler option on it! :D
I agree it's more subtle

I changed mine to the TRD ducktail but I do like the aero one but would have been a bit embarassed to have one myself, particularly without a bodykit!
While it no doubt works, I hate the standard one with a passion!
TRD ducktail (or replica) is the one, the huge Aero spoiler just looks out of place on these cars imo (much like it does on the Civic Type R with them) and there is a white 86 Aero local to me with the big spoiler and im nearly sick every morning when i see it lol, just looks proper chav and the guy that owns it must be nearly 60 :D
Im not a fan of the stock 86 spoiler either but its better than nothing (dont like them naked either), always wanted to get a ducktail my 86's but never got around to it, maybe next time!
I like the aero spoiler with the rest of the kit it suits the car
Love the TRD ducktail and don't mind the one I have
I don't have a plan to change mine as trying to keep it oem (famous last words)

Steve showed me a full aero kit the other day and I think it looks great.
Crying out for a cosworth supercharger IMHO.
Was that the black one?
It does need the power to go with the looks
£4500-£6000 for forced induction
Haven't experienced one but with circa 300bhp it must be fun
I had one with the cosworth supercharger running around 280hp and it certainly livens it up :D i like the stock power car as well but much like the MR2 you need to work it hard to make rapid progress, if i was to get a 3rd 86 i would probably go the na tuning path with breathing mods and remap which gets it upto around 220-230hp at a push and flattens out torque dip.

Something to clean, polish, drive and enjoy for more than 10 minutes before selling again.
Fixed that for you.
@StuC
Been a while since we've fixed anybodys posts 😁
Much fun fixing posts. 😂
After months of hunting for a immaculate low mileage car, I can say the hunt is now over
I traveled to not so sunny Leicester today and collected a stunning bright red MR2 it's been garaged it's whole life and been serviced each year by Toyota.
She has covered a genuine 21000 miles from New
Cant wait to send some time detailing the car :)

Mr T in Leicester will be sorry to see that one leave the area!
Pleased your itch has been scratched.
Until the next time.
PS
It's not got a permanent hard top has it,
@SV-3 lives in Leicester iirc?
SV-3 has one of my old cars (very nice example) no it's not that one.
Unfortunately this one hasn't got a hardtop

fair play to you :) you definitely look after your 2s and it seams that detailing is your happy place.

The million dollar question....
I do enjoy the cleaning and polishing part just as much as driving
That's an idea, I could have a nice little business doing that :)
Hopefully get some time in the next week to get polishing
Roll on 2021 summertime

Just shows you that it's sat in a garage all its life.
It has been garaged it's whole life yes and generally been pampered
I have owned many mr2 since selling the holy grail (green TTE turbo) the blue car I had last year was pretty special but the condition of this car is possibly the best I've owned. Red seems so right for a sports car
@Bernie the red paintwork is all original and very red

Asking a Q here that you may not wish to answer.
Apart from the for sale threads on here + your 'wanted' thread, Autotrader, Pistonheads etc what other sources do you utilise to locate vehicles such as this latest beauty? .....or is this to remain your secret
I was unaware of this as an eg until very recently
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/108033365883610/vehicles/?make=2318041991806363&model=309777303019722&sortBy=vehicle_mileage_ascend
Having been in mr2 circles for many years often people will come to me when they want to sell cars or parts which is nice.
In this case I was reading a thread on fb and saw someone looking to sell and made contact and it went from there and had the car bought within a couple of days.
Almost forgot to add I'm always looking! I dread to think how many hours ive spent looking for cars and car parts over the years.
Genuine enjoy the looking as much as owning and cleaning
'Genuine enjoy the looking as much as owning and cleaning' < sadly? in my case it's the owning and the driving, not the cleaning. But agree with your general thoughts, I really enjoy the 'chase'
A Very informative answer though, please give me a nudge if you ever locate a '2' that's not quite up to your extremely demanding standards re mileage but otherwise mint please.
Message / post what spec and budget and I will forward you the details should I find something
Cheers, have pm'd

Now come on Steve, you said more pics to follow, I've only seen one of the bonnet! 😂
I'm waiting for my tyres to arrive after having a set of wheels refurbished. Apparently they have been held at customs for the past 20 days. Once I've got those fitted you will be sick of the sight of pictures.
Do you use Instagram? You can see all my previous cars (search my reg)
Fantastic looking cars - they all look immaculate but I do like a Chilli. ;D
Chilli red seems to show uv damage the worse, a real shame.
I'm always looking and should something come up I will let you know. I haven't seen just the leather seat covers come up for a long time.
Really like the 9-spoke wheels on your previous Chilli - what make are they, any idea of the weight
@s12vea ?
Agree with Jane,a super collection
They were genuine tte grandstands that imported from polland. Cost a small fortune to import / refurbish / new centre caps and tyres.
16x7j
I've only seen one other set for sale since I sold mine to bernie
Really suited the car and had a great fitment, they were a heavy wheel apparently but I didn't notice it when I had them fitted.

Well, my previous Chilli never suffered from sun damage. She got a full detail and layers of wax and polish every 6 months and in between a top up and of course she was garaged all the 9 years I owned her which helps of course. I will agree though that silver is very forgiving for general wear and tear.
Yep,those are the beasties
@mr2noob, good spot
Interesting to note that Mr T seems to increase the number of wheel nuts on TTE wheels. Well that's what the leaflet shows.
Also interesting to note that what we generally refer to as a "Style Bar" is named a Roll Bar and it's TUV approved on that same leaflet!
I did think that the T in TUV was Technical not Aesthetic.

Why did you sell again?
*Checks availability + bank account* < grrrrr if only!
Thx for the heads up though
@mr2noobnow, let's not hijack this thread any further :-)
The eBay link is for a set of grand prix style and slightly smaller 15" they would be a bit small for a 2 and bit narrow.
The TTE wheel option was 4 stud for mr2 but more popular 5 stud on other Toyota range. Celica etc
Managed to enjoy some roof down driving this afternoon while the sun made an appearance, then back home before the rain.
Spent some time upgrading the door speakers and sound proofing the doors.
Such a difference for a couple of hours work.
Went on a road trip this morning to collect some rare parts for the car. Can't wait to get them fitted, hopefully in the next week or so
Here is a little clue
Everything just fits like it's meant to be :)
Nice :D did well to find the TTE bits! :)
Quote from: thetyrant on May 19, 2021, 10:20Nice :D did well to find the TTE bits! :)
it has been an expensive mission for sure.
Few other bits to get over the coming weeks
Had my previous SP wheels redone in Bronze and fresh Hancook Tyres fitted
Pictures just don't do this combo justice.
Very nice Steve ;)
Looking good
Those wheels do go nicely too
Rob
Thank you for the kind comments
I love the colour combo but our dear old friend
@1979scotte doesnt think the bronze and red go...
Maybe he will need to see the car in person to change his mind

Nope.
Not for changing sorry.
Although it more the size than the colour.
Managed to get out in the car and have some shakedown miles this afternoon. What a lovely bank holiday weekend
@s12vea i think I like this look. Cheeky lil tte sticker too. 😉😉
Feel it needs an accent of bronze elsewhere on the car to link in the wheels. 🤔🤔
I like your thinkings!
Something else could be going bronze we shall see......
Cryptic as ever. 🙄😂😂
Managed to buy an immaculate tte exhaust after months of being taunted by the previous owner because he knew how much I wanted it, paid far too much also but needs must as it complements my setup. It came from a late car with under 30k so immaculate as a 15 year old exhaust can be.
Hopefully get that fitted early next week with a decat.
Looking forward to releasing some sound as my car is near on silent at present
Today had my TTE exhaust and decat fitted :) A Long time coming
At last some sound to go with the performance
Tomorrow I shall clean 800 miles worth of bugs and grime
:) :)Iam so pleased with your exhaust find would you like your number plate back that i kept ;D for the deposit if you stole my exhaust :)) :)) :))
looking good i would be well happy if it was mine

With the stunning Red TTE Turbo now with its new owner in Gibraltar, I tried to move onto a hot hatch but it didn't itch the spot.
Searching high and low for my favourite two seater sports car then begun.
Prices are rising
Cars are getting older
Many have been abused
Hardtops prices are heading to the moon
I couldn't find a single "clean" example in the usual places.
I had to resort to my little black book of mr2s "that could be for sale in the future"
I made contact with a gentlemen that was the second owner of a fantastic Sable car which has been garaged it's whole life and had very little use for the last few years due to life getting in the way.
After many emails / pictures and phone calls a deal was done and the car was delivered to me yesterday.
I couldn't be happier!
It's a genuine clean rust free car with original paint, good service history and very bright and clear headlights! It even has the original Bridgestone tyres! (These will be replaced shortly)
It still makes me smile when I find these hidden Gems and I've said more and more often over the past few years that finding one in this sort of condition is rare nowadays.
Pictures to follow once I've spend some time giving it a proper detail next week.
P.S Mods can this thread be moved to readers rides?
We have all come to accept this pattern of behavior now Steve. Almost to go the point where we can set it watches by it!! 😉😉
I was reading excerpts of your latest challenge and the Mrs said... "He can't have Lily back!" 😂😂
Then went on further to say about getting legal something in place to restrict you! 😎😂😂
She is really serious about this.
Here we go again.
It's all part of the fun and part of the challenge ;)
@StuC Lily is a Mega example of a 2 and Many would agree a stunning example in Yellow she is safe for now
@1979scotte I like to experience other cars but this 2 seater sports car keeps drawing me back. I very nearly bought a boxster but at the price point I was looking at could of been a can of worms.
I am hoping this week to spent some time going over the car and bringing it upto my spec, weather looks to be nice so be able to put some miles on the car and awake it from slumber.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures of another immaculate car!

Nothing wrong with that, it allows someone an opportunity to enjoy another stunning example and keep these cars on the road.

Greg has kept the car in fantastic condition and after a 200 mile return trip she is now sitting tucked up in my garage.
I have some plans for the car which will take shape over the coming weeks and it will give me some time to sell my current sable
