Title: Bonnet and Bootlid PFL onto a FL - will they fit
Post by: ihs61 on October 3, 2018, 21:04
Hi

I have an 2006 MR2 FL, that I have bought a replacement bonnet and boot lid, however these are from a 2002 PFL.
Are these part straight swop overs ? It didn't occur to me at the time of buying them that they might not be identical

Thanks Ian

You're good to go, all the panels are the same across the range. Similarly the bumpers and side vents etc, the only part not a straightforward swap externally is the headlights and that's due to the wiring rather than the fit.
The paint codes are slightly different though, particularly the silvers so colour match might be an issue unless you're painting?

Thanks for good news, however it was the colour I chose them for to save having them painted. both cars are black

You're probably ok with black depending on the age of the different panels as it tends to dull a bit over time. Nothing that a good claying or light compound and decent polish and wax won't fettle though.
At least it's not red, probably the worst colour for sun fading and peel.
