Forgive me if this sounds a bit naive but not had the car long so just getting use to it
My owners manual points to a TC button by the steering wheel, in my car there is just a blank pate, its a 2004 model, is this right
Cheers Rob
I may be wrong, but I believe this was only fitted to the SMT model.
I believe that is correct. (so we might both be wrong)
If you have a Link Xtreme you can fit traction control if needed, will be doing it on mine at some point.

Optional. As was cruise control.
The SMT already has speed sensors and fly by wire throttle body.

Oooh I wonder if my Apexi Power Fc can do that...... 😂 NOPE!

Its one of the reasons I upgraded further from the Power FC to my Link unit - plus the additional launch control/anti lag as well as traction control and knock protection.
Sadly, I ain't got a clue what you're all talking about. Best I stop reading this post. Sorry guys, way over my head.

So, TC was optional only, that eplains why my rear was moving around on a greasy island Saturday at pretty low speed
Cheers Rob

All weather tyres with plenty of meat? That is usually sufficient to avoid roundabout slides.

Also need to re-calibrate to "old school" driving ;D

Our cars don't need TC, if the tyres are decent and at the correct pressures they have loads of grip, only looking to run traction control in mine as I am planning to be running triple stock power levels.

Furthermore, being able to play with the traction is part of the charm of rwd no?!
I had mine on El Cheapo no-grip rubber for the first few months (over the winter) on purpose so I could learn the car´s behavior at lóóóów levels of grip = lower levels of speed.
Been ´caught out´ only once and that was trying the handbrake action during roundabout drifting angle limits discovery :-)

Either your tyres are pony your pressures are low or you're driving to fast for conditions.
I have no traction issues and my car is heavier and more torquey than most.
TC not to be confused with Electronic Stability Protection/System/etc.
The former is your right and left foot (on clutch), the latter is not possible on our cars unless you implement some new braking system.
