Post by: 105e on October 31, 2020, 16:08
90 miles from home in the mr2, and it pours and it pours all the way home, i dont take it out in rain, its wet where it hasnt been wet in the 2 years ive owned it.

I promised myself three years ago after the subframe replacement that mine would be a garaged car and never see the rain. Then a new neighbour moved in and started dumping their car outside my house for days on end so my hand was forced if I wanted to use both cars regularly.

Wouldn't worry too much about rain but it's winter road salt and living near the coast that eats cars.

It won't brake.
Carry on.

I thought bad weather was forecast all over the country today.

Make sure its nice and warm when you pop it in the garage tonight.  No salt yet, so no big worry.

Had to drive mine through some flooded lanes on Dartmoor today - which was a first!

Wait. Driving a car. In the wet. Is a disaster?

If that represents a disaster to you, then count yourself extremely fortunate.

This is a car forum, in fact an mr2 forum, i am not talking about other issues which may affect me much more, so yes as far as my mr2 goes this is the worse thing thats happened to it...( and its obviously tongue in cheek)

Well, if your signature is anything to go by, a 105e would slowly rust away every time you washed it, so I would understand the concern....

For a mintue there i thought i posted that. ha ha

I have to say it does hurt when i take mine out in the rain and will only do this for MR2 events going to the garage or helping other members out.

on the other hand its used all year, a love a winter dry roof down trip out. in fact i only take it out if the roof can come down.

Went out for a drive yesterday with the roof down for the first time and it was spitting with rain and cold , however..... We were pleasantly shocked that we didn't get wet or cold or windswept and even had to turn the heater down as we were so toasty. Lovely. More bonus brownie points for the mr2.

Heaters are the best I've ever had and if you get wet just drive faster.
