I was looking for a very specific copy of MR2 only magazine and found a whole bunch you can read in high definition for free!
https://issuu.com/search?q=mr2onlymagazine
My favourite one is the SP240 feature.
https://issuu.com/mr2onlymag/docs/mr2_only_issue_3_issuu/1?ff
More interesting than the article on the SP240 is the silverstone performance meet/dyno day.
30 cars out at the same time and HOW MANY TTE Turbo bumpers and TTE Turbo Cars?
Makes me think there's a whole lot hidden out there on this little island.
We should have a ROC e-zine.
Maybe not with 80+ pages like the proper glossy mags, 5-10 pages once a month would be cool.

Definitely something I've always wanted to do. I've even started once. A long long time ago.
We should make it happen. We just need someone who knows how to use illustrator/photoshop/coreldraw etc etc and some creative juices.

Well you've got me going now. And I don't even have time to do the things I've got to do haha.
Anybody with publishing experience?
@Petrus....
Every figure on that Dyno day was at least 5% over expected. Giving the costumer what they want?
I used to make my living using all that software on Mac. It's hard work and has to be made to pay. I certainly wouldn't do it for free!
It's a nice idea but really not practical, I'm afraid. The software and hardware aren't cheap.
These are the kind of ideas that don't stand up when one really thinks about it. There would be very little revenue either from subscription or advertising as the audience is so tiny!
Which is why small specialised car groups use forums whose content is generated for free by members!
@ucbMaybe they all were fitted with a Unichip, 150BHP apparently!

No, I had 12 books published but that was in the days when those were all done by a real publisher and machines printing paper.
I just organised the words ;-)
It's a wonder they managed to keep printing those mags when the only readers are MR2 enthusiasts!
It makes very interesting reading though, you get the to learn more about the other MR2 gens.
Here is an idea. Why not make a MR2ROC calendar. Post submissions and then have it made and sold for the club.
That would be a good start. At minimum it should be submissions not done on a cell phone at reasonable quality. Cars should be picked on lottery bases because it wouldn't be fair to those that have unmodified or those that are not well known so it's not a popularity contest.
One of our members on the other board I belong to did something like this and it turned out to be popular.

We've had a calendar for years made by Stew.
It was good.
I can definitely throw that together like Stew did

I can second this, she's not just being miserable! ;D Making a monthly magazine is a full time job for a team of people with the correct equipment and knowledge.
Keeping a calendar going would be a much better idea.

To further back that... I believe it was Nik from DC I was speaking to a while back and she said they packed in the newsletter as well because it wasn't worth the effort

Isn't that what dynos usually do?

I forgot to mention that each submission should be tied to a month so it has a theme. That way a December picture has snow and a spring picture has flowers or some other thing that designates that in the background. If more then one submits for a month it should chosen by lottery who gets that month and it should only be one submission for the entire calendar.
The problem you will have is some that has taken the the effort to make a good picture is overshadowed by someone that throws up multiple pictures from their cell phone that look like crap that has taken very little effort so it is important to have a basic standard to get only those that are interested in participating.

In the past it has been more of a case of "beggars can't be choosers". Stew would often struggle to get submissions. So cell phone pics did end up being the order of the day, as that is what people could send in the end.
Having said that.. I really liked the calendars we've had. I've had them at work every year (when I was still in an office)
At least if its going to be a cell phone picture it should match some basic criteria that follows a theme.
You just need 12 people so I don't think its very hard. When our calendar came out it was basic but what got a lot of people to buy it was the reasonable price. If its too high of a price or cars are chosen based on popularity of its members then it will flop.

Ours was free.
Most people don't even own cameras anymore just a few enthusiasts.

Only saw 3 TTE front bumpers, 1 yellow, 1 grey, 1 black, from the piks, it was 30Nr cars in total not all TTE but a variety
A few recognisable attendees

That's three more bumpers and a few more TTE turbo kits than I knew existed!
Anyway seems like the mx5 group have a calendar, we can't let ourselves be outdone by them can we?
