Post by: Petrus on September 5, 2022, 15:25
The bell housing a bit different, the bottom half of the clutch housing is coverer by a metal sheet

any reason why not to have it off?

It's a snap-in plastic cover.

Got a spare somewhere...

So no weight gain there, not really necessary cooling and some risk of dirt getting in.
Subject covered. Literally.

Another example of the general lack of rust on the underside of your car. For instance the horizontal , silver, tie bar. Mine is the same colour but only because I derusted and repainted it.
Conversely I note the starter ring gear is very red! Lack of recent use?

Not mine  :-[
Mine has less rust still and an as new lighweight flywheel.

It was just a thing I wondered about. Restless inquisitive mind  O:-)
