in need of an engine asap!! my best price so far is £1350 fitted for an engine thats done 13k miles out of an 03 roadster.

is that the best im gonna get? mind you they are in london so need somewhere closer to midlands..

Expensive, though, once you factor in the cost of the engine (easily £1300) plus ancilliaries, modified parts from LR in the states, etc etc..

As Lee found recently, the cost can easily be as much as a turbo conversion..

it doesnt look the same!! and if i got that then it would basically be the same as the lotus elise speed wise...

and with the handling of the mr2 at the front, may be dangerous...

not really sure depends what it comes with going to need ecu and wiring looms as well i think see  m http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ything+2zz m  for more info too

Its a different (more powerful) engine, you would definately have to let them know and yes your insurance will go up, by how much, depends who you are with...

Yes,  but telling the missus you NEED £3k for a new engine when the old one has expired is much easier than trying to explain why you WANT to spend £3k trying to make a car go quicker.....

not sure how much it will go to but like aaron said earlier dont forget all the extra bits your going to need, and the engine is completely different, when i first heard of the 1.8 2zz i thought they would be similar, but i now know the about the only thing they have in common is that there both 1.8...thats about it!

No idea mate, never had to look for one *touch wood* try 247spares website, i know they can source many parts although i have never used them myself, failing that, google or autotrader for breakers see if anyone round here got any front damaged 2's in ?  Cant remember if you said you had spoke to Ad (jap gt300) although even if he has got an engine, not sure how you would get it back. Spose could always get friends or family with big car to drive down and stick it in the boot?   s:? :? s:?  maybe...

Get real Leon, its a massed produced car, you aint in the performance car leagues yet. Try searching for the engine in the corolla and see what that gives you  s:wink: :wink: s:wink:

hi guys...

1 company in dewsbury have an engine for £1175 - has 38k on the clock

1 company in stratford - london has 13k on the clock for £1350 fitted

1 company has an avensis engine covering 10k and for £1200

Can i fit an avensis engine in my car? also would it affect my insurance at all???

avensis engine should fit (assuming we are talking about a 1zz?)

will probably need an extra hole drilling and tapping to mate up teh gearbox though, as teh corrolla does. strange that teh lowest mileage hardest to fit is teh cheapest.

whats teh catch?
