OK.  So the misses "may" be getting me one of these day out driving things.  Theres loads of different types...advice on which would be best (based on fun and maybe learning some real world stuff).

1. http://www.iantaylor.co.uk/elise_course.html

2. http://www.iantaylor.co.uk/360_course.html

3. http://www.iantaylor.co.uk/911_course.html

I am steered towards the 911, as it would be my dream car by a long way!.

2nd or 3rd one! Ive done a ferrari testarossa one before, that was teh nuts! but would love to do a porker too....

i would say.... you would probably feel more confident in the porker as ferrari's are quite hard to drive (small girly pedals!).

Lucky b*stard BTW!

Hehehe

Trouble with the porka is that once I drive the 911 turbo, will I ever want my 911 Carry 4 that I have my dream eye on?

the 911's are fast motors, but the turbos are supposed to be the muts nuts! Thats what i want after the '2. *puts flame proof suit on*

Thing is, will you ever get the chance to drive a ferrari again? your more likely to drive a porker again i would have thought....?

Value for money, I'd rather have one or two days at North Weald with 1stLotus/Carlimits. Ok, so you're learning rather than just having fun on the day (which I think *is* fun anyway), but the real joy is from day to day driving afterwards.

I've tried a 911 and it was very very cool.  But no idea compared to the others.

I've got a mate who teaches performance driving at Palmer Sports in Bedford. There driving days are the ultimate in the uk and they use all top motors including prototypes Jags etc  s:lol:  s:lol:

I'll try and get them. I know its set up for the corporate scene so is quite expensive. He races Le Mans every year etc so is quite an expert driver. He reckons its the best driving day experience in this country.  s:lol:  s:lol:

Well its my bday on the 9th Dec, then Xmas, so I think at least 2 of them.

We will both be doing the North Weald Driver training next year - closer to when we may need new tyres, but I class that as learning and not fun...although it does sound like a fine line   s:lol:  s:lol:

They sound like the nuts!! A colleague of mine went on one as a 'sweetener' from a supplier (bastid!!  s:twisted:  s:twisted:  ) and they are the top prize for winning the star pupil event at the kart track I go to

BUT you'd need a huge discount as they cost about £600 for the day!!!
but you do get to drive 7 cars!

Edit - BTW craig = those url's don't seem to work, but I got the info by just going to the home page

And they pay their drivers really shite money along with working long hours. The bloke I know races in Le Mans every year so he's no muppet, but just freelances at Palmer Sport every so often as fill in work. He reckons its a good day out but expensive as you say. Loads of cars get totalled  s:wink:  s:wink:  He mainly drives for Ecscari that lot using alternative fuels...
