I've been watching a build thread over on Twobrutal, where a Norwegian chap called Arne has been building a Mk1 with a 1UZ-FE V8 engine.
The engineering has been amazing, as he's managed to get it fitted in transverse style, but completely refabbed the rear of the car with tubular framing and new suspension points, the lot.
This has to be the most brutal swap I've seen.
A lot of us have probably seen Bill Strong's Northstar V8 which sounded great but wasn't really a runner, but this is.
Have a look and listen for yourself:

You just can't beat a V8 for the noise!   s:twisted:  s:twisted:

Do you know what he's planning for the bodywork - I presume BIG arches at the back?

Yes I'm pretty sure big arches will be in his plans. Shouldn't be a problem for a guy as talented as he is.
