Anyone had snow yet?

This is my first winter with the '2 and I'm dreading going out in the stuff.

As a kid I longed for the days that I could build snowmen and have snowball fights with my nextdoor neighbours... not any more though!

I've had a few slides in the wet with the '2, but snow and ice will be a new experience. Here's to a safe few weeks....

consitent throttle, do not accelerate or brake mid turn.

keep everything smooth. If it's really bad you may try pulling away in 2nd not first.

make sure you have plenty of tread on your tyres as well and definatly do not accelerate when going around a corner.
most of all take it slow.

Just take it easy and drive as if you are taking your driving test.

Finally, remember grit does not work at temperatures lower than -5 degC, lower than -10 degC the grit sticks to the insides of the lorries and they cannot spread the stuff. So don't presume that just because it is cold, roads will be gritted. And don't presume that because roads have been gritted, they will be ice free.

i think i heard the weatherman say that it was due to hit us southern peeps overnight/tomorrow, so we'll see!!

Oh great, going to London tonight, what the betting we won't be able to get home because there are too many sodding snow flakes on the line!

Its gloriously sunny in Southend at the moment, but very very cold.

yesterday flight ops at Heathrow airport posted us as having snow all week, today they revised that and put us as having high winds and temps of 3-5c, but no snow s:cry: :cry: s:cry:
