I'm considered a new driver here as this is my first insurance in Ireland (though I was of course insured in the US many moons ago). As a result, only one company would insure me for the MR2. All the others simply refused.

Greater love for the '2 hath no man...

The price should drop considerably after I've been driving it for a year.

Claim Experience if Any? Someone drove into the back of me back in january (hence 3rd party at fault). I was advised to initially claim on my insurance and get the work done (new rear bumper) and then use the legal service cover to reclaim the losses off the other drivers insurance. I did this - my car was fixed in next to no time and everything worked out as they said. 10/10

Any General Comments? Maximum mileage limited to 7,000 miles. Apparently after this 9 months insurance they will honour me with 4 years protected NCD. I found them to be significantly cheaper than the rest this year for me...
