Wiper blades grinding......

Hi chaps.

Quick question for you...as of yesterday my wiper blades seem to be making quite a racket. Not sure what it is. Any thoughts?

I don't think it is really the blade actually, sounds more mechanical than that. Can there ever be any problems with the actual arm?

Try lifting both the arms and blades off the windscreen as if you were cleaning it and operate them to identify any noise other than the afore mentioned items themselves on the screen
Could either be linkage and gearing to motor or just worn out blades (the metal part)
