Got banana back today, after being without her for over a week.  s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:   s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:

My suspect rear offside wheel bearing was actually a front. So the front hub has been changed. Hub alone was £250, genuine part.
Failed nearside handbrake cable, offside was on its last legs too. So had them both changed.
Then had to have the punctured tyre changed, as it wasn't repairable.  s:-( :-( s:-(

Not much change from £750 though.  s:shock:  s:shock:

Good news though, sailed through MOT! Huzar!  s:-D :-D s:-D
She was lovely and quiet (except the zorst... Obviously) driving home. Shame it was raining, would have taken her for a longer spin.

If I had done it myself I'd have only saved £200. That would have been coupled with a week of misery on my  time away from work, under a cold car in the garage. So happy days.

Been up to Steve @ D1 Customs today for a service and a general look-see for some of the wibbliness I have been experiencing recently.
Confirmation that the geometry set up from December is wrong, as she is pulling to the left slightly.
Fitted the FL front bumper aero lip to see if that makes a difference. Will be able to assess better when the geo is sorted.

Latest and almost last installment of the handbrake saga. The garage that fitted the wrong handbrake cables have now refitted with the OE parts and things seem to be OK. As I have been bitten, I will be making a trip up to Steve@D1 Customs, (which I am fed up of typing so will now be... S@D1C!!) for another check of their work.
The freeness of the rework, was in large part down the report that Steve complied for me. His Toyota Master Technician qualification carried the necessary weight.  s:-D :-D s:-D

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I figured (after Simon's update) that this thread is also overdue an update.

March 2017
Banana went back up to Steve's for an MOT & Service. One of the front shocks had a very fine misting. Time for a change then. Banana was now running 100k on what I (and Steve) believed to be original shocks and springs. So I was at a crossroads. I had been figuring that I wanted to head down the coilover route for a while. Tomos (previous owners of Scott's Bee6) was running 17" and coilovers and had reported that the roads we both use to get to Gaydon were not fun on a stiffer ride with low profile tyres. So my choice was:
1. Change to coilovers and have stock wheels.
2. Refresh with stock suspension* and carry on being a tart running 17" wheels.

I love my wheels so much, that I went stock suspension route. I know, I know.. big surprise... NOT!  ::) ::)
*I would have run lowered springs, had I not had put them up for club auction just 4 months earlier!!  (:< >:) (:< >:)

S@D1C ordered and fitted new the kit.
Banana responded really well. The ride was much improved, even on my tarty wheels with rubber bands!

Additional work carried out by Steve was a full underbody sealing treatment.

Summer 2017
As we are all well aware, the sunshine months produced their usual quantity of precipitation. Which slowly highlighted to me that Banana had a leak. The usual suspects of the drains were duly checked where upon I found... NOTHING! Everything was completely clear. Water would merrily run from the hood and onto the floor. With a mental workload I decide that she needs a visit to Dr Steve. After about a 4 week wait and now a footwell full of water.. the culprit is found...

The drain pipe had become detached from the plug hole!! Under watering can volume, some of the water managed to shoot into the plug hole. Giving the impression that all was OK. I wish I had spotted it earlier, it might have saved the carpet. :-(
As things stood, I needed a new carpet and the NVH pads underneath. Steve had a word with Dean@Rutland and he had a great condition hood. A Toyota re-trimmed one, not more than 6 months old. BONUS!! I had been considering the trip down to Wales for a new one and now I didn't need to. :-)

With the new hood fitted, Banana was even quieter with the roof up.

March 2018
Banana is currently with Steve for her annual check up and MOT. Apart from a little adjustment on the handbrake, everything is going well. Looking forward to getting her back soon to enjoy the... snow?!? lol.

Stuff STILL to fit...
Armrest. Delivered by Puma2 from last years DD!
Sounds deading patches for the door skins. Delivered by Puma2 from last years DD!
Kick panels. Which I have yet to make!!
UD sub box and amplifier (not sourced).
New seat covers & heated seat kit. Had for it least 2+ years.
Markiii pipe. Which I have apparently had for 3 years +
Bonnet struts. Which I have had for even longer!
EDIT: Thought of something else to add <sigh>

Perhaps some kind soul will help me at DD18?!?!
