Picked her up today before heading to Wrexham to DD18.

Fairly happy with the job done. If has highlighted other areas though. :(
Tail pipes are not shiny. :(
Think I might taking a trip to @Ardent 's metal finisher soon!

Banana has been off the road for the last 7 weeks. During the summer heat she developed as PAS (power steering) leak from the union at the rack end. She drained nearly all her fluid, steering feel was normal, but the pump was noisier than usual under load. Additionally I have had an intermittent heavy feeling to the steering. I suspected the lower UJ, but Dr Steve had fed back this was ok not long ago.
So a few weeks ago she went up to Dr Steve, once all the other cars were back on the road. 3 cars all broke within 4 days that week!!!!! Not our best week this year.

Steve first noticed that the PAS pump was not working when it arrived at the workshop. This was a partially corroded relay as it tuned out. It also helped explain the intermittent heavy feel, which was the pump cutting out.
Onto the pipes themselves. £300 for an OE set from MrT!! :shock:
So we ended up with some from Hamish on here.
Getting the pipes out is something to not underestimate. Especially for a car like Banana, 100k+ daily driver. To say they were corroded was the biggest understatement of the year! Steve has tirelessly worked to get these suckers free!
Given the state of the pipes post removal, it is a credit to Steve that the rack wasn't trashed in the removal  process too. Thanks @steve@d1customs

I am really pleased to have her back on the road. I am looking forward to topless drives to Gaydon in my immediate future. :) :) :)
