Great Adam.  Pics pics pics  s;) ;) s;)

I am going to order my 15x8 and 15x9 wheels for the GT300 so I should have mine ready before christams hopefully   s:) :) s:)

I hope that it will look OK with the 15s.

BTW.  What wheel and tyre sizes do you have?

Sounds like your project is going well!

I am using the 17" Monocraft Works alloys in Titanium color.  I have 225 tires on the back and 205 on the front

Thanks.   s:) :) s:)

I will also run 225s and 205s but on the 15s.  Might not look that good but will not loose accelleration

It will!  s:? :? s:?

I went from stock Yokos to 205/50/15 and 225/50/15 S03's and it killed the acceleration  s:cry:  s:cry:  My first thought aftem getting them fitted was that there's something wrong with the engine, it felt like a huge powerloss  s:? :? s:?

Probably part of getting wider (=heavier) wheels and part of S03's being a heavy tyre in general...
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

Yeah good thing the SSR mesh are lighter than stock even in x8 and x9 config   s:) :) s:)

i would really have liked to have a nice set of 17s though but the combination of heavier weight and low profile tyres kills it for me.  If I go lower than 50 the ride will be impossible here.

BTW I am getting Yokohama A048s so I think they should also be reasonably light?

Well...those seem to available only on biggish sizes, so can't really compare:
225/40/18 22.9lbs
265/35/18 26.0lbs
285/30/18 26.7lbs
 m http://www.yokohamatire.com/TireSizes.asp?TireID=60 m

Some examples for weights in 195/50/15 size:
Bridgestone Potenza S03 20.7lbs
Dunlop SP9000 18.1lbs
Toyo T1-S 17.4lbs

That +3lbs might not seem like much, but it's the same for all 4 tyres and makes a whole lotta bigger difference than +3lbs on wheels, cause the tyres are further from the centre  s:? :? s:?

A048s may be a bit heavier and not like acceleration, but they're a semi-race tyre and are seriously sticky when warm. I've been tempted by them but I really don't feel like overloading the suspension and bearings with the amount of load these tyres could make!

In japan they are available in 205/50 and 225/50
I am getting my wheels and tires from there so I think I have more options.

In those sizes there are also Dunlop and Bridgestone SS tyres as well as the new Yokohama neova  s:) :) s:)

I will get them and tell you how they fell and if they cause any problems.  The US guys run semi slicks in AX and they dont seem to have any problems so I am confident.  s:) :) s:)
