This procedure can be completed with the hardtop on or off (except the final step). These pictures are taken with the hardtop off for clarity.

STEP 1:
Open up the drivers bin and remove the closing panel (if installed). This is done by carefully pulling the centre of the plastic clips as highlighted below.

Tucked behind the foremost part of the trim panel will be the connectors as shown in the picture below.

STEP 2:
Unplug the connector by pushing on the little lever and pulling apart.

STEP 3:
Feed the demist cable through the loop of material and engage the connector into the now available socket.

STEP 4:
Feel for the gap between the edge of the 'water bag' (where the loop is mounted) and the material running across the back of the stowage bins. Feed the cable up through the hole.
***This step is much easier with the hardtop off and the hood semi-lowered. It is possible with hardtop on, just much more fiddly***

View from the outside of the car, with the soft top partially closed for clarity.

ON A SIDE NOTE... this is how the water from blocked drains gets into the stowage bins!!

STEP 5:
Locate the 'hook' on trim panel and feed the cable through it.

STEP 5a:
When the hardtop is not on I loop my cable back like this to stop it getting caught in the soft top mech.

STEP 6: (with the hardtop on only)
Plug the cable into the socket near the locking mechanism
