Ah OK, it does look very nice, but I don't feel so jealous if you had to get it repaired to look like that! Mine was never mint, but 2 years stored at a friend's place has left it even worse for wear... One day, I will make it nice again...

It looks depressed after its operation haha

Couple of small jobs done today.

Toyota sprint series regs state you must have a yellow negative battery cable and the positive terminal needs to be covered.

So I got some heat shrink and some small terminal covers

My steering Uj is really looking bad, I've got one in the post so hope to change that ASAP

I just taped my negative terminal up and it was fine and they do check it , was the first thing they checked.
Looks good

Your UJ looks in a lot better condition than mine  s;) ;) s;)  put up some pictures of how you changed it so I can copy please  s:) :) s:)

Is that front number plate even legal? I've seen small number plates but that looks tiny! I would have thought a stick on one would have been better?

Need to polish those headlights next!!!  s:) :) s:)

My fronts legal i cut it down from a stock plate with the regs in front of me. Have a look in my project thread if that helps at all.

Yep, a tow strap from JJC or similar, a nut and bolt, a drill and some basic hand tools. I couldn't find anywhere to bolt it so had to drill a hole, but it wasn't too bad.

Gearbox was removed from the car yesterday and is currently being inspected by a gearbox specialist. Fingers crossed for what he finds otherwise I'll be forced to buy a different box.

Also found my exhaust is blowing where a bracket has torn off, so that's another job / more money that needs doing  s:( :( s:(

Bracket has torn off!?  s:( :( s:(  what exhaust did you put on there? Second hand or custom?

just another way to do it, we got a good quality rock climbers caribina(happened to have 1 lying around) hooked that through the original tow hole and the toe strap on to that.

I hope everything is going ok mark buddy and the gearbox is savable,

cheers tommy

No news on my gearbox yet was hoping to have the answer by now.

In the mean time I snapped up a deal from the forsale section and got a pair of unused rear AD08r in the correct size so I'll stick with them for another go before trying r888s

I also got a steering knuckle so I'll be fitting that when the car is home

AD08R's are fantastic tyres, I use them all year round on the elise.

So far I have done 8 track days this year on them and they have hardly any sign of wear!

Quote from: "Jrichards20"Update on gearbox mark?

Kind of, it's all gone quiet for now!

They took the box apart and found some burrs on the pinion or diff, I'm not exactly sure because this was 3rd hand info from my mate who is dealing with it all for me via his garage business.

They checked the shimming etc and seemed happy enough so last I heard they were rebuilding it and should be back with my mate this week.

They have said those burrs could have caused a grinding kind of noise but can't be certain it won't make the noise when it's all back together.

I missed the chance to buy the box from Alan - the timing wasn't good for me at all, but I've secured a corolla 2zz box which I am getting next week, my plan is to get an mr2 diff (frustrating I had one!) and get a new gearbox built up ready to bolt on should the worst happen!

I think the not-so-longlife exhaust is off and being welded up too.
