Could anyone tell me where to get chrome air intake grills from and what prices should i be looking at.

Also is there any good dealers or sites that specialise in accesories for the MR2 Roadster.

I am new to the site and any info regarding accesories would be appreciated.

Try the following for the grills

http://www.tte.de/

or

http://www.pelicanracing.com/

Sorry I haven't found a reasonably priced UK supplier of stuff, so have had to order most stuff from USA and Japan.

Check out the Commercial thread at Spyderchat

You can get the new '03 design intakes from Toyota for around £70 for the pair (anyone know the exact price?). These puppies are really nice. Then if you really wanted to you could send them to Hong @ Pelican Racing to have wire mesh inserted in them. I know he has already successfully done this – can anyone add anything to this?

I still never got round to doing this. Are they REALLY that easy to fit?

I think Adam (Jap GT300) sells the 03 style side vents... or at least he has some at the Chelmsford Meet... might be worth sending him a PM and see what he has.

Get your fingers under the front edge and pull. Hard.

Yep me and Markiii have both done this and I'm happy with the results because they complement my Chromdesign grills pretty well.  Looking closely at Hong's handiwork you do realise that it is quite easy to DIY if you have the mesh and bloody strong tape / adhesive.

Indeed, but you may want a couple of new clips though when you come to put the new vents in the part number is:

62955-12010

they're about £1 plus VAT each I think...

Isn't there a chance that the clips can go "missing" in the bodywork if they are on the inside?

Sorry for the incessant questions on this. I would like to do it pretty soon, but I haven't actually looked at how they fit in and have no idea what I am looking for......  s:roll:  s:roll:

No, the problem is that you might break the clips when you take your old vents off, although i didn't.

No problem!  It's easy, just get your fingers under the front edge of the old vents and pull outwards, hard!  They pop straight out.

Make sure all the clips are out of the body work and in the new vents then pop the new ones in by sliding them backwards in to the space and pushing in at right angles to the direction of the car to push the clips back in.

Piece'o'piss.

Just wondering...but wouldn't it be easier and cheaper, if Hong bought the intakes from US, installed the mesh and then send it to UK..?
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.
