Quote from: "elzorillo"Bloody hell.. you've been a bit busy Lee.

Erm ... I forgot to tell you about this thread ed.

Side skirts and spoiler primed... ran out of primer so may just get the rear bumper to fit tomorrow then paint one evening.

I know a lot if people don't like these spoilers, but to be honest I'm not going for the subtle look...

Not like those spoilers? No Lee i hate those spoilers!

Long as you like it no one else matters.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Ps that Impreza diffuser will fit the jdl, had it all held up in place today... Will look good too.

Need to buy half a litre of base on Monday so I can do the rear bumper, found out how to get a perfect colour match! Don't be tight with the paint.. Keep putting it on until it goes a real dark blue, the skirts match perfectly

Ok, changed the name of my thread as it's not so average anymore...

Reason being is that I was supposed to replace my 05 plate Saab 9-3, as its nearly done 180k, but carefully conjured up the perfect plan not to change it and save myself some money,
I washed it!! So now the Saab is staying for another year or so and gave me a chance to speed up my plans on the mr2.

Spraying and fitting the jdl kit myself is saving nearly a grand, so that can be spent in more interesting ways.

Got something very exciting being delivered hopefully this week, so need to finish the jdl stuff before it arrives.

Just need to buy some more paint and also figure out how to attach the side vents as there is not clip mounts.
Going into work today later to wet n dry and polish the bits from yesterday .

Will post pics as things progress, so if anyone thinking of purchasing any bits I have purchased they can see what it looks like and how difficult it is to fit yourself, because I am doing everything myself and truly have no idea what I'm doing

Thanks

For anyone that's interested, this is what the impreza rear defuser looks like on the standard bumper.
you can see it poking out the bottom, and it almost fits perfect, just needed to drill a couple if fastening holes.
ignore the red bits behind my grille they will be black when I fit the jdl bumper.

Rear Diffuser looks great, may need to invest in one myself, does it come with fittings?

It came with nuts and bolts, you can drill holes so it fits to the nappy fittings.

60 quid from eBay,  took me 5 minutes to fit because my original nappy bolts sheared when i changed the exhaust so I cable tied it though the holes. It sits solid

I don't know why, but the rear bumper fits perfect!
I flattened it ready for painting, then tried it... drilled the mounting holes and it fits???

So going to take it off and paint it.

Also update on the impreza diffuser. It has started to melt on the cat, so mount it under the bumper, don't jam it inside like me. Then it should clear.
