@jvanzyl  :'(

I feel for you. Well worth doing what you have done.
If not, in time the car would have stunk.

Chap at work, spilt some in his work van. Oh its only the work van so left it. Mistake.

  • afr wiring for EMU
  • 2zz yellow injectors

  • 3" flexi

Call the midlife!

Boost and oil pressure/temp gauges, boost control solenoid and associated sensors/adapters for the gauges.
AEM gauges come with sensors and looms but be warned, the looms aren't long enough for mid engined use...

Excellent thank you!
I've got the oil pressure and temp gauges already. Pressure sensor just arrived today for the emanage..

So the still to buy list is now:
  • boost gauge
  • muffler
  • various mandrel bends all in 3"
  • AFR gauge

Have you got it on the engine yet to know which way around the turbo is going to sit? If not then I'd wait until you're sure of the orientation before getting anymore parts in.

Did a mock up a while back, but hadn't clocked the turbo yet so that I could put the intake on the left side.. took some very basic measurements..

However as per the other "rust" thread.. I've got some stuff to take care of prior to getting back onto this one..

So... In an effort to save money, I took the milk home from work as no one would be there for the next week to drink it.
It then poured out in the car and I washed the carpet and cleaned below (still might need more cleaning in the tub as I can smell something..)

I then found a rust spot and made a hole through the tub, and in the process got some rust flecks in my eye as I casually blew away some of the dust.. then had 3 days in and out of hospital trying to get these removed.

Which leads me to the current progress, of this little chapter. I'm going to opt for the rubber bung idea to start with.

The below are the tidied up hole using a step drill and treating the area with kurust.

Nasty little bits...had one in my left eye that caused infection - couldn't open my eyes and has to go to the eye clinic to get it out!

Only just spotted that your turbo'ing this great work.

Not sure you'll need 3", 2.5" should suffice and be a little quieter.
1zz turbo. Home built and home mapped.

Ah... well I've bought lots of stuff to fit 3", and I was going on the advice from Kevin at Zero rockstars
Exhausts.. I'm happy to run bigger muffler in the end..

Thought I'd put the layer of zinc primer on.. topside is fine from the kurust, the bottom side needed another coat. Hopefully later on today I can put the zinc primer on the under side. Then I'll spray on some colour and then some under body seal and finally plug it! And THEN put the carpet back in!

I wish I could make the stupid phone use the flash whenever I want.. flipping annoying

So paint has dried. Popped the bung in and then put on some under seal.
Might still put some silicone on the top side just in case.

In other news I think I may have bought @Micktet999  turbo kits manifold.. not yet confirmed it's his, but figured this would be a better option than the current one.

My mind is going to the oil drain into the sump and wondering if one of those fancy moroso sumps are worth it vs making an angled drain into the existing sump.
01 Silver 1ZZ<br />The Smile Machine: viewtopic.php?f=88&t=59837

Call the midlife!

If it's a Turbokits cast manifold then it'll probably put your turbo the opposite way around to how you have it now, just bear that in mind.👍🏻
The Morosso/Eliseparts sumps are as much for the extra oil capacity as anything else, the Eliseparts return fitting could be bigger to be fair.

Exhaust brackets and rubbers arrived.
Found some brackets that are adjustable.

Turbokits manifold has arrived... and I'm slowly putting the carpet back in..

Out of interest, where has everyone run their coolant lines for the charge cooler? Straight down the middle? And what lines did you use?

@jvanzyl:  Copper slip is not best used on the sliders.  It goes dty and sticky over time.  'Ceratec' silicon grease is the stuff!

Available on you favourite auction site.

As Bing would say, "straight down the middle". If you look on the AVT site (chargecooler.co.uk I think) it'll give you an idea of what pipes you're looking at but essentially it all depends on what rad and pump etc you're using.
You're going to need at least 8 metres.
