Couldn't agree more. A dolly is probably handier than the crane for me so far   s:shock:  s:shock:
I can't recall a day when I drove my MR2 and it didn't put a smile on my face

Thanks Carolyn! - If I send you postage cash, can you mail them to me? Or is it a major faff? and the postage equals to buying them new anyway??

Manos - yeah I've been watching a couple on eBay.. had my eye on a nice one in MK but it just ended early  s:-( :-( s:-(  will keep an eye on these things...

Worse comes to worst, I could offer to lend you mine if you come and pick up during winter. I can arrange to collect back from you.

I'll see if I can dig some out and give them to Stu on the weekend?

Edit.  Just checked.  Have n't got a set of dour with the same wheel diameter.  Sorry.  ebay 'casters'.  Get all four 'swivel' type.

just did a search:   m http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-Heavy-Dut ... 1152136673 m

Good load rating too. Put mine on 300 kg rated just in case something happens and the engine drops suddenly on the dolly, maybe small overkill.

No worries hey!

Thanks for link! I'll order a set and then mount them on some proper thick MDF I think... with the obligatory spare tire on top of that of course...

No MDF.  Sturdy frame and heavy plywood.  Make it useful for other jobs.  You'll be surprised how much it gets used.

Manos & Miles, thank you VERY much for your kind offers! I will most likely take one of you up on it depending on your and my availability and timing for when I actually do it.

I can't commit to any exact timing just yet as I don't actually know when I'll be able to start or how long it'll take me to do it, but I will be in touch to figure it out in a couple of months when it starts to get colder.

Thanks again guys you rock!

I should also be able to help you drop it, if I'm available.

Now that I've done it once I estimate around 3 hours for a decent job to do it again.

That would be amazing if you could do that!!!!.... If more people want to participate we can do engine dropping followed by BBQ round mine... So dinner and a show!
I can get all the camping chairs arranged for the viewing and maybe someone can do the filming for the you tube channel.... Getting ahead of myself here but may add well maximise the opportunity!

Sorry, but I don't like them at all. Stick to silver would be my suggestion.

Hmmm, not that keen but I do like your blue soft top, I think I will go with that colour on Foxy too when the time comes!
Ex owners of Chilli red facelift 52 reg called Chilli, silver 55 reg called Foxy and blue pfl W reg MR-S called Sapphire. Now 2 less!

I like the blue
I was going to paint them red on a black car

As I said before.
Needs more blue.
Wheels next.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Thanks hey - I do appreciate the honest opinion!

So you reckon something like this?

Fair enough... yes I do rather like my soft top!  :-) :-) :-)

Possibly a reason to be bias   s:wink:  s:wink:

Anyone know what the best way to stick them on in a way that I can remove them if wanted is?

Why not get extra saucy and paint/vinyl the door relief into it, although it might look a bit too much like a blue Nike logo on it!
Blue with silver accents, that's the way I'd go with mine if I ever replace the roof![emoji1303]

what's the "door relief" ?

Quote from: "1979scotte"As I said before.

Wheels next.
Miles said the same thing... it WOULD allow me to have Orange calipers though... hmmm.. I just don't know if I could handle blue wheels...

Looking from the bottom of the door up, where there's the defined bend in the steel up to the top of the curve, make that blue into the mouth of the scoop. I've been looking at various colour schemes using the natural curves and creases but spent enough money on it lately as it is![emoji38]

StuC was talking about this year's ago.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
