Thanks, are they original Toyota ones and where did you get them?

I think so... Dead chuffed with them to be honest! I have visions of being a competent hand with maintaing my car  :-) :-) :-)

Bought them off the private sales section here from Jeff as he'd just finished using them for his engine rebuild.

Slight update.. I managed to turn too tightly into my driveway last night as dented the side... I've got a slight paint scrape as well..  s:-( :-( s:-( ... gutted...

So looking forward to having it removed on Ding day.. but slightly sad that I've now got a bit of scrape on the paint work... I know I shouldn't be precious about it as it's only a car... Just wish I'd taken my time to park properly!  s:-( :-( s:-(

Oh John, that's so damn annoying.  You just wish you could rewind and do the manoeuvre again correctly.  I felt exactly the same when I dinged the bumper last year!

Thanks hey:-(

Maybe this is just one more reason to put money aside for the wide body kit!  s;-) ;-) s;-)

It's time for a POSITIVE update  :-) :-) :-)

Soft top replacement is booked in with Jack Smith in Swansea for the 11th of March AND it's approved with the wife!!!

This is most excellent news!  :-) :-) :-)

My current choice of colour is for Navy Blue, which isn't a standard colour I know.. but I'm hoping it'll look decent with the calipers and center caps being blue too...
Looking forward I'm wondering if one of those splitters would look decent if it was in a matching blue...

Sounds good, intrigued to see what the navy blue hood likes like!

Cheers man! The spoiler is slooooowly getting resanded.... I'm halfway through sanding it back down to reprime it.. and yes it was hycote!  s:-( :-( s:-(  But I think I may have been at fault with not keeping it warm enough...

Either of you guys know if it's worth buying a Facelift roof frame to put my new hood onto? I heard there was a difference... .

i have no idea about the frame sorry. in winter i have a small convector heater which i suspend things above to heat them up, thin coats few mins apart. i read you are refurbing your winter wheels hows that going? iv done 2 sets of different wheels this year, learnt a bit along the way, was getting quite allot of reactions on the first set  trying to go over loads of old paint jobs, in the end i flatted best i could then used hammerite hammered black, and flatted it down once a day. they came out well. the 2s wheels were badly flaking/corroded so took back to bare metal using angle grinder with wire brush attachment and drill with the same, quite time consuming. then painted again with hammerite hammmered black and they came out good. (in my opinion) of coarse does not look as good as a proper refurb. but is acceptable. Jacob

Nice idea with suspending the heater! I have a halogen heater - but it's got some kind of "leveling switch" which means it only turns on when flat and level! - might try and source something else...

Wow.. yeah.. those wheels.. well it's not really going to be honest.. I've essentially stripped 50% of the wheels all the way back to the metal using an angle grinder with a wire brush attachment... its not exactly hard work, just incredibly time consuming and I'm fast reaching the point where I'm going to pack it in and take it to something like max powder and pay them to do it!

the heater use as normal but if possible place items in front on a stand or hang of some cables and dangle. Well your 50% there glass half full! Weather dont help much makes me feel like i cant be arsed. keep on grafting and you will get there Jacob.

OK- small update. I managed to win one of these on eBay:   m https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA ... s/GM-D8604 m

My plan is to bridge two of the outputs for the sub and leave the other two for the door speakers. I can't remember what impedance they were so I'm not sure what power they'll be running. But it's gotta be better than the 55W my head unit is giving them at the moment.

I'm hoping I'm reading the spec sheet right, but I should be able to go up to 300W @4ohms. So now all I have to do is watch eBay for a 6.5" driver! And if I get fed up with trying that I'll go down the lanzar route on Amazon...

Drove down to Swansea today to get my new soft top fitted:

Whist Raymond was doing the roof, i planned to fit my new sub and amp..
I only got as far as running the power cables through the firewall- will have to spend a lot of time figuring out how to get the rest done!

John, I like the blue on silver, very smart.  Food for thought for Foxy eventually!

Today I got my car back from the garage...
2X toyota hand brake cables
1 x rear right brake caliper
interim service with oil change
and a nice shiny MOT!
And quite a hefty bill... of £568..  s:-( :-( s:-(

So I'm all set for another year of spending!..NOT... I need to do the suspension on the cheap I think...

I actually wrote up a for sale advert this morning and tallied up all the work and parts that have been done to the car in the last two years... I think I'm helping keep toyota and various members of this forum financially in the black! Essentially the only thing left to do bar an engine conversion is the suspension....

Anyway - glad to have my lovely car back  :-) :-) :-)

Suspension will make the most difference for sure.
Its great on box fresh springs and dampers.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Yeah I'm looking forward to it being DONE.. not looking forward to paying for it.

Anyone got any experience with Cusco suspension?
