All of the biggest and most dangerous screw up's i've encountered have occurred when handing a car over to 'qualified' people.  Qualifications mean jack.

Good people who know what they are doing, is everything.

You'll find good people and tossers in garages.
You'll find good people and tossers on forums.

If someone encounters bad advice and takes it, on a forum on otherwise - that is a failing in their own due diligence.

I could tell someone to go and buy a Peugeot 306.
Their bad if they actually do it.
