I'm thinking of getting one next summer (if they are still available). Does it change the exhaust note? My guess would be - Yes, since it has different port matching to the stock one, but would be interested to hear from somebody who has one.

Not much, as far as I can tell.  I have one on my MR S and the car is quiet (even with an after-market cat), which is the way I like it.  Got a conventional exhaust on the Blue car (with gutted pre-cats) and they sound pretty much the same.  Silver car (MR S) has a bit more poke at lower revs.

....It's much easier to get a good overlap and a tight wrap if it's done on the bench.

Did you go around the O2 sensor holes or did you cut out a hole in the wrap?
