So after buying my winter run around reasonable cheap a few weeks back with the intention of running it just through winter things have changed!!!!
Well the car has got got under my skin and it's the most fun I've had on 4 wheels in a long time so I've decided to keep it long term and this means putting right a few bits that I was originally going to leave!
The car only has 94k on the clock with a fsh so to me it's worth doing
Plans are:
Service : (done) still need new plugs
Sew up roof: (done) new one next year
New passenger rear panel, one in the pipe line
New bushes all round
1 new back shock (ordered)
General tidy up
Make a new gear knob!
Upgrade the speakers
Stop doing donuts and drifting as I'm close to needing new tyres!
All vents and grilles to be painted black

Gear knob plan

Mr2 with the Sumer transport

Roof being Sewn up and general check over

Welcome.
For me changing one shock is a no no.
Personally on a car with 94k i would change the lot or at least an axel pair.
Obviously cost does come into it but it is a sports car and not your family wagon.
Have you got up close and personal with your rear subframe yet?
Mine wasnt in the best of condition after only 55k on an 06 plate.
Enjoy.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Totally agree with you on the rear shock however the other rear one was changed for the mot 2k ago so I've sourced the same shock as the new one.
Rear subframe is in excellent order only one small piece of rust nothing to write home about.

So today didn't start well as my oh car started mis firing so I had to sort that before I got on with the mr2!!

Got the back end up

Old shock, as you can see was leaking oil

Old and new

Once that was done I turned to the toe arm bushes one was totally free as I found out last week but one needed freeing, after several different attempts I decided to burn the bush out on the car and use the heat on the sleeve to push out the bolt! It worked a treat.
New poly bushed arms

New and old bolt copper greased so they don't seize again

Underneath of the car subframe etc all don't look in bad Nick for a 15 year old car

Spark plugs were changed aswell today, hopefully more done tomorrow
