Rubber Ducky

As per the title, really!  Looks in really good condition, only 48k miles from new with all old MOTs, etc.

I'd love to hear if the former owner is a forum member.

Hoping to pick it up next weekend - can't wait...

Edited to add - I did not pay £1000 for it!

Hello and welcome

Happy and sad at the same time.

Good find for you. A grand for a TTE turbo MR2 makes me weep.

Welcome. The £1k didn't meet the reserve so I'm assuming the OP bought it for a bit more than a grand and the auction was finished early!

It looks a very tidy car I was tempted myself. Was the previous owner a member of the ROC?

There rarely come up for sale and this dealer has sold two in the last month.

He owned both but he sold both kits separately to the cars.

Wasn't that one advertised by the guy on the FB group? I only ask because it's got the TTE front bumper and those are RARE.
Think it had about 70+k on the clock?

it was on UK MR2 Roadster owners FB page... pretty good nick for age of car, 86k, carbon bonnet and boot, tte boomerang, tte front brace, SP exhaust, extra chassis bracing, BC coilovers, trd oil pressure, water and oil temp guages, engine seems fit pulls very well, no smoke, leaks etc..handles great on its Yoko ad08's....was some history with car but it would be nice if anyone knew some details about it!
I had a bog standard roadster 5 years ago and this feels twice the power of the previous car!

Sadly I didn't get it for a grand! We agreed to end the auction early for £3900. Still, it seems like a good deal to me - I was contemplating doing a 2zz conversion to my car and this will work out no more expensive, plus the car is a couple of years younger and has done 30k fewer miles.

Interesting that he sold another TTE turbo recently - he claims it's a private sale...

Well done you.
Youll love it but you will want more power eventually.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The only reason he would say that would be to avoid any after sales warrenty stuff. I would question that or be prepared to drive away with no come back if something goes wrong

That's what I'm hoping. 138bhp certainly isn't the sweet spot!  I really don't know why Toyota didn't offer the 2zz from the factory...

Just to add, the car I'm buying was previously registered as Y2PDR if that helps anyone cast any further light on it. Now registered as Y595HVY.

He can claim what he wants, unless the car is registered in his name & there is no trace of it through the books either coming in or going out then it's a commercial sale & you have his nads in your grip if anything goes wrong, he could try putting sold for spares/repairs on the invoice if he does walk away, in fact run away.

But I hope it's as good as it looks & my half empty glass is wrong.
