Lol! I'll get back to prepping that manifold next week. About to go out and enjoy the Northumberland countryside today with some fellow owners

Nope! That never happened. I'm a lazy pig. A lazy stuffed with chocolate birthday cake pig.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Very similar to a 2 is a Plumber.
Plumber' s have a similar rarity value to that of our 2's, especially when you want one in a hurry ;)

Been a while since I posted here. Gave up on the manifold for now. New job in January meant everything on hold for a while. Had the car out on the Highland drive recently which was amazing, and looking forward to Ding Day.

But starting to get bits together for my next learning job, fitting new discs and pads. Had a bit of binding on the OSR during the Highland drive, and there's a lot of corrosion around the callipers, may be bigger job than I was hoping

One of the pads I got was different brand from ordered, thinking, should I send it back and get another Pagid, or are these identical pattern parts?

Send it / them back.
No ifs or buts.
Not fit for purpose.
Likely dangerous.
Liken it to a cross ply and a radial ply tyre on the same axle.
Things should and must be done in pairs if you value your car and yourself.
That's my opinion anyway.
PS l'd go so far as to say they should be the same batch number across each axle.

Cheers, yeah not too impressed by what showed up. This was from Carparts4less, on offer. Can see why now. Almost all boxes opened/seals broken, and an one part from different manufacturer. Stock clearance, more like cleaning out the tat.

What are the 6 boxes Dell? Isn't that more than a cars worth? I'm sure brake pads are sold in axle sets so it really should be fine, even though you'd want your packing perfect before you pop it in the bin [emoji4]

Ah. Oops! Well, there was deffo 2xdiscs in each of the disc boxes because it says "x2" on the side, and the seal was broken so i looked. But the pad boxes don't explicitly say "x2", and I'll be honest I wasn't sure when ordering so I played it safe and doubled up. If this is how well I do with ordering them I can just imagine how the job will pan out 😂

I was talking about the spare pads, you don't have to put the car in the auction...

Dear God man! I mean there's donations and then there's Donations. I'm not feeling that generous.
*Edit* I was talking about the manifold

Wow, where does the time go, that day 2 years ago was brilliant. How times change. Been parked up for a few months now. Sciatica / back pain is a bitch (in fairness might well have been excessive and enthusiastic use of said car that's caused it). I need to replace an O2 sensor too, it's been sitting on my dining room table for a while.  Resolved to get repair done and get out in it next weekend, with a dose of Naproxen...
Quote from: delhusband on November  5, 2017, 11:28You know, if you've put your 2 away for winter, I'm sure it'll only take a few minutes to get the cover or hard top off again - never too late  s:wink:  s:wink:
Weather's been nice this weekend, shame not to take advantage of it......

Pain is unfun guys. You have nmy sympathy and empathy. I enjoy life on painkillers, an indominable positive attitude, a strong sense of obligation to enjoy the daily privilege and not least the incredibly motivating power of loving company.

Thanks for sharing those wonderful views. I can almost smell the autumn air. Aye, the associations of smells.
A great love gave me a small bottle of Petrichor ´perfume´; a loving gift of bottled memmories made in the Uttar Pradesh village of Kannauj. I open it on very rare occasions and a whiff is like Scotty beams me up.

Carolyn

Sciatica,  very nasty.  Please look after it, as you really don't want it to get worse.

All the best, Derek.
