So my mr2 has a flat battery, poxy cold weather
(:< >:)

I just found and ordered this from Amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0748GL615/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1519757760&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=arteck+jump+starter&dpPl=1&dpID=41ol2etzznL&ref=plSrch
It will apparently jumpstart petrol cars upto 2.5l and you can charge your phone or tablet with it too. For £30.00 Inc free delivery I thought it may be of interest to others on here.

I have one.
I think it will be fine with a 1zz.
Wouldn't start my dad's 2.5 diesel Navara without help or my V6.
Although both were completely dead.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Oh ok, I hope it'll work on mine...

Edit :- after a quick read through the Amazon ad, i think you'd need the bigger version for diesels.
If it doesn't work, £30 for a Powerbank for my phone's etc is reasonable any way.

The diesel and the V6 are at its upper limit for sure.
Its more for my 1.6 Polo.

Haha! I used to work in a transport cafe in the very late 80's there were a few "dealers" back then that used to come in with the handset, cable and breeze block style "mobiles" and proceed to shout down them.
And now it's gone full circle again, from competing to have the smallest (Nokia 3310 style) to people using iPads as mobile phones.
Onward, ever onwards.

I never saw those phones in person, but I can easily imagine they'd be used by loud mouth wideboys........ Probably for ringing the chiropractor for an appointment for their bad backs after lugging those about :)

@1979scotte
V6 or polo? Bet there's a real dilemma when it comes to which one to choose for a Sunday blast...

My dad had one very similar.
Heavy.
Surprise Surprise it was a car phone stuck on a car battery.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.

Well I got it yesterday and tried it today, and I admit I'm impressed with it. I opened the box and thought no way will this be able to do the job.
I was getting just the clicking noise when I tried to start the mr2, Hooked it up to this, and it fired first time :) I'm still left with a full charge on the arteck too which has amazed me. £30 delivered for this with all the additional cables for phone's etc I feel like ive robbed them.
For all the smart arses on here of which there are a few ;) the 20 quid didn't come with the charger I put it there for size reference

I picked up a Suaoki one but thankfully haven't had cause to use it yet. As you say, mad to think they'll start a car but only charge a phone a couple of times.

Can thoroughly recommend the Maypole £25 trickle charger too (reason why I've not needed to use the jump starter).

I haven't got the option to trickle charge mine, would be ideal if I could. The arteck seems like a decent option to have in the car though in case of emergency.

I've just ordered one of these on your recommendation, they must've gone up though as it was £35 of your English pounds!

The sneaky buggers ::) I bet supply and demand has played a part in that with all the cold weather we've just had. Still a good deal for you I think, even more pleased with my bargain now though :P sorry to rub it in
