Insurance at both ends of the spectrum

So its time to renew the insurance, following a comparison site check I will be sticking with General Accident who want £130 fully comp for me and my standard car.  The joy of being 50 something and living in the country.

At the expensive end of the scroll list for my £1k car was a firm offering me insurance for £2k but with a £3k excess!! Apparently it also came with a free courtesy car in the event of a claim....
