I bought one of these dampers when you first mentioned them but havent worked out where to fit it so will be interested what you suggest when you see Scotts car as to a suitable mounting as I would up for a V6 version too.

Problem is one V6 isn't the same as another.

Yours, mine and @MR TWO are all a different flavour.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Link for the damper.  It comes in a few colours, so if you search Ebay for 'Engine Damper' you can pick that which you fancy.

Ignore which car they are for.  They come in long and short.

You want short.

It seems (from corresponding with Petrus) that these are stiffer than they used to be.

Mine's a couple of years old now.

Don't worry about the stroke, just adjust for length and install.

Fitting it to a knackered engine so it might as well look pretty![emoji38]

Looking forward to the fitting kit and bolt it in  :D

For anyone who would like the PU bushings a slightly softer; drilling a few holes trough them axially will do that trick. This gives the material space to deform instead of only compress.

Carolyn

Please. everyone, just adjust the length and install it!

They will 'run in' as they're used.

More importantly:  Deal with sloppy fore and aft engine mounts first, (if your ARE sloppy),

You will all see that one of the rose joints (the one with the locking nut) can be adjusted for length.

Make sure there is still a decent amount of thread attached to the damper.  Otherwise it might tear itself out.

If you need a bit more length, slacken off the ally collar and wind out the ally threaded part to make up the length.

Hopefully I've assembled this right- should be midway on the stroke.
Looking forward to this little bit of bling bring put in place!

Not quite:  Invert the bolt on the right.  The spacer is correct once the whole thing is inverted.  Bolt head underneath, spacer on top with the narrow part going into the hole on the head.
