He does roofs.  Period!!  Oh, and politics.... :D
Lol....  Even IF the red fades over time- and I've not seen one yet. It's not that much to put a new one on or use some kind of product to restore the colour?

Go for red!

And yeah- if don't want to be there talking politics your need to excuse yourself immediately..

May not be much of a problem as on the phone I could barely understand the Welsh fellow so I'd just be agreeing with everything.

Go on then twist my arm, I'll call him up and ask for Red roof.

Collected this from Manchester yesterday!

Did the drive to Leicestershire and today to work without any problems at all. Really handles like a little fly, it's a lot of fun.

I'll make a thread on the new owners section soon when I get a chance to take some pictures, got a few little things I'd like to sort out on it then I hope it will make a good little daily.

Nappy is a bit loose/wonky
Need to replace foglight
Roof replacement (booked with Jack Smith)
Try to sort some squeaks and rattles out (there are many!)
Handbrake cable tighten
Polish headlights lenses (really brings the otherwise good condition front end down). Any other suggestions welcome on this.

So a few little bits to do, really does drive well so hopefully nothing mechanical needed. There is a slight shimmy from the rear end, when getting off the power after hard acceleration that I notice, but I think I'll live with this. The steering is ultra sharp.

So I've been dailying this for a few weeks now, and I am enjoying it. Slowly been working through it's little issues.

Replaced foglight
Didn't bother taking the bumper off, loosening the stone guard gave enough space and visibility to get to the clip on the bumper to push the foglight out. But.. none of the foglights work! Investigation for another day.

Nappy
Had a look at the Nappy fitment, it felt loose but actually it was screwed in all around. One screw on the inside was missing and held with cable tie. I had bought a set of stainless steel nappy screws from MR2 Ben and I went about swapping the old ones. The 3 on the outside came out without any problems. But I ended up shearing off the one left on the inside.. I'm just gonna cable tie it just like the opposite side!

Unfortunately I also spotted some oil residue that seemed to be running down from the front of the engine on the bulkhead side, and down onto the sump near where the sump bolt is. I hope it's not too bad of a leak. I feel the source of it may be a nightmare to get to as it's on the front side of the engine.

Roof replacement at Jack Smith in 2 weeks.

Squeaks and rattles are really bad to be honest but I'm just going to live with them while turning the stereo up.

Sorted the handbrake yesterday! Somebody had already attempted it as one centre console screw was missing, and another was the wrong one and not screwed in at all. I think somebody tried it without taking the seats out, not sure how successful they were as the handbrake was literally useless. Anyway I took the seats out and removed the console. Followed the guide on here. I did notice that one cable seemed to have more play than the other, and the one with less play, didn't seem to move much. Anyway did the brake pump thing and tightened the cables a significant amount, now the car will hold on a gentle slope at 5 clicks which will keep me going for now. I hope the difference in play on the cables isn't due to dodgy caliper, but the car definitely brakes straight and true.

Need to get headlight lenses polished.

Fixed the engine hood support bar, some previous owner numbskull had put it through the wrong grommet hole and it didn't attach to the hole, so I removed it and put it in the correct hole on the right side.

The car is indeed a lot of fun. I love the steering rack, it's very short and very responsive with zero play. Getting used to the weight transfer in an MR car is quite interesting, the lift off oversteer feeling quite strange but I love how the front end will level out while applying power. A lot of grip in this car.

I also calculate MPG the other day. I did 364 miles since last full fill up. New fill up I managed to get in 40.8 litres. So if my maths are correct:

40.8 litres to imperial gallons = 8.974745
364 miles / 8.974745 = 40.55825541561348

40.5 mpg?? Wow.

Glad you can see past the bad points to what is a really fun ownership experience
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
