TRD chargers for 2zz and 1mz really aren't great imho.
So I wouldn't expect a 1zz version to be much better.
They're fine if you're happy with the limited increase in power they provide unfortunately most people want more after a while and therefore you're better off going turbo rotrex or engine swap.
Usually costs you less in the long run.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I am not looking for a lot of extra.
I am basically ok with the standard top end output. I would however like a bit more grunt/mid range.
No I will not want more later on. Later on I myself will be later on too (I hope) ;-)
The long and short of mý desire is KISS and a modest increase in grunt.
Yes, a Rotrex replacing the airco would totally do it, with the power I want it might even go without a charge cooler? Got some questions about it though.

Btw. we are totally hijacking poor Househead´s car thread. Should we open a separate thread? or perhaps dig up an existing one on the generic issue?

What kit or technique did you use? Think I could have done a slightly better job on my badly cloudy one. It's hard to know when doing it with the wet and dry if taking off more will make any difference or just take you longer and not do! I think mine has some clouding on the inside thanks to the reflective surround.

:D no worries at all guys, I like the attention and it's easy to get carried away :D

Will keep my eyes open for said thread ... need as much info as I can get to make the right decision on the power question.

1500/2000/2500 wet and dry followed by mild cutting paste and MER polish, paste and polish applied with a DA polisher

As said, really pleased how it came out, hopefully it was just the outside

Dropped by the wrapper. Collected the tech inspection special bonnet I had wrapped satin black.

He is a cycling mate and a real easy going but profi local.

Yes he will have a go at my side mirrors and at the windscreen frame too.
The only slight potential thingy, he says, are the outer edge corners of the mirrors where the chrome coúld go a bit darker if it needs to be stretched there.

He will get a bit of transparent UV film for the headlights too.

Prices? Will report when it´s done. We are on 15€/hr garage tariffs here, so it´s the price of the vinyl and a bit.

Awesome @Petrus would love to see how they turn out! And I guess if it doesn't look great that it's easy to reverse and won't have cost you much. For 15euro an hour, I'd be tipping the guy a 6 pack of beers!

Happy to be the guinea pig :-)

Just asked him to order some chrome for both mirros and windscreen surround.
Being laid back, the other side of that coin is that is not one to jump out of the starting blocks.
Though we talked about it this morning and gave him the go ahead, now took some fotos and confirmed ordering.
He has done the vinyl on my car so knows the job; the photos being a refresher but mainly a reason to get him to áctually order.
Since I live just down the road from his workshop ánd do not need the car as daily, he can fit me in the slack time. Win-win.
Will keep you posted.

p.s. just got the SSangYong Actyon Diesel back from an oil and filters service; 72€ total and that included cleaning the water-warning-sensor in the fuel filter....

I like your red edition MR2. I thought I recognised the advert on car and classic. Whenever anyone asked what does my purchase look like...I showed them your car pics!! I have painted the binnacle and heater plastic too; black matt
