Going to get a pair of tyres fitted, wheels are of the car, but i wondered about the little locating spikes in the rims, thought they may interfere with the machines they use. Never had them before, do they need removing first?

Had tyres fitted at 3 different places, no issues.

Should be fine, the balancing machine at the tyre place would basically be like a hub on the car - the wheel fits on the car so will fit fine on the machine, didn't need to remove mine when they were done.
