I'm on the search for an LHD front strut tower bar ages now (literally for the past 3 months, I've been checking ebay and google every day). And my finding is that no TRD came up in this 90 days (LHD) and UltraRacing is RHD only.

Beatrush looks like it works on both LHD and RHD as the image seems to be showing an LHD car but not sure how to confirm.

Does anyone - by chance - know any proper (actually working) LHD FSTB out there? Or any idea where to source one? I'm running out of patience and it's eating up my spare time to check every single day. :)

Thank you for reading this.

I certainly dont.
the car being Japanese and this forum being mainly UK based means RHD is how we think.
sorry
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Well.. all things being good- and the lhd being a mirror of the rhd version- I don't see why the ultra racing one wouldn't work?

Tamasbako

Ultra Racing says officially that "further fabrication is required". The LHD/RHD frunk is not an exact mirror, just see the TRD front brace, RHD has the hole for the brake fluid, LHD doesn't have a hole, reservoir is in a different place.

Sure, but still the biggest European MR2 forum I believe. And it's my last resort as for the past 3 months I checked daily on Spyderchat, Ebay, and various other resources for an LHD brace (that's effective not just a universal crap). So don't take it as an insult please, it is aimed at LHD owners who have experience with tower bars like Ultra Racing or Laile/Beatrush, etc. So they can confirm wether it fits LHD also or not.

It wasn't meant as an insult.

I hadn't realised that you've been a member for 13 years. How you've only managed 132 posts I've no idea.
We get a lot a newbs who don't understand that we're mainly a British forum.
Especially since the rebrand.
Good luck with your search

It occurred to me that we have a " very active member",@Petrus, who has a LHD 2 and a front strut brace.

Maybe he can offer some advice.

I used to live in the UK from 2004 until 2008 and that's when I had my first MR2 (RHD X reg). Then I moved back to Hungary in 2008 and sold the car in 2010 as I lost interest at that time.
Fast forward to 2019, I bought a similar (but facelift) LHD and now back to tune it. That's why there aren't many posts from me, there was an almost 10yr gap :)

Although it was shocking that when I left the scene it was super active and aftermarket parts were flooding the internet and now it's a bit different. But still, it's a great car and I really appreciate all the Mr2Roc is about.

As one of the least technical people here. And I wholly appreciate it comes down to how many Forints it would cost.
But, is it beyond reasonable amounts to consider having one fabricated?

I apologise in advance if that is more ridiculous than I thought.

Fabrication would, but designing it to be functional + fabrication would be costly. However, I reached out to Beatrush/Laile and they confirmed it's univeral (fits both LHD/RHD), not sure why they specifically list it as RHD then, but I'm going to order one and see for myself.

Thank you all for the comments.

Not heard of your preferred supplier and so had a look for myself. Certainly minimalist and for what it's worth I would agree it should fit LH and/ or RH drive.

Dont bother they look like the Cusco which are rubbish IMHO. I've got one in storage somewhere.
It is 3 separate pieces that's not a brace IMHO.

Surely the States is the place to look?

Or one of these Toyota 53607-ZW300-US

Have you looked here https://www.andysautosport.com/strut_bars/toyota_mrs_spyder.html or on Syderchat in for sale sections?

Scrub that you've already been to both those sites

Bought an Utra Racing and did some minor fabrication; cut/ moved/ welded the bar a but on the strut plate: Problem solved.

Snelbaard has a strut brace too on hís LHD.
