Please don't, those things are an abomination, if you must mess with wiring do it with proper connections and fuses if required.

Can't you cut the wires and just superglue them together?😉

What is the issue with using them?
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

There is no issue.
You know what they say: "A bad workman..." or some variant thereof.
Weren't these originated by 3M?

Yes they're a 3M product.

So like everything else when used improperly they fail?

In the industry that I worked in where multiple wires multiple metres long, carrying power or control voltages enclosed in trunking or conduit it was not good practice to have any joins because of the problem of locating a loose joint/ fault.
Terminations in control panel or switches though were typically by a screw terminal so nothing fundamentally wrong with a "chocolate block" but any screw terminal can be susceptible to loosening by vibration and a crimped joint is preferred in that case.

As with many things a product is designed, developed and marketed and accepted on it's virtues but then " someone else" decides they can make it cheaper and they do. But the quality is not the same, typically less and therein is the problem. A 3M connection block I am sure is a thing of beauty, but a similar product made by a Christmas Cracker  novelty manufacturer will not be so good.

When I thought about doing I was going to use a piggy back fuse on the cigarette lighter then use a piggy back on the dip fuse to an nc relay. Fitted the Chinese led fogs with DRL but not connected the DRL yet
