Hiya, I,m thinking about cutting the grip off the handbrake and making a polished alloy one, does anybody know diameter of handbrake under grip

I don't.  Be aware though that it'll be freezing in Winter & damn hot in Summer.

Cut and measure, if you are going ahead with the work.

I have done that. Looking at the cut off section, its approx. 16mm.
(Yes its cold but not as bad as a metal gear knob. Yes, I have one of those too!).
